First-look pics: Can Todd save Sarah from phony Phelan?

Here are some preview pictures from the episode of Coronation Street to be shown on Friday 30 September 2016.

Sarah is delighted when she unexpectedly receives a large sum of money and she decides to approach Phelan and Vinny about buying one of their flats for her and Bethany.

When Todd learns that Sarah has decided to invest in a flat he’s panicked and confronts Phelan, ordering him not to rip off his close friend or he will blow the whistle on him and Vinny.

But when Phelan tells Todd what Vinny is capable of, will Todd have a change of heart?

  1. so why does Sarah receive a large sum of money??? Seems a little bit too contrived for my belief. Like I said before - the cynic in me does not believe that Corrie can have a couple of great episodes in a row. It's the same with the elastic walls, Maria suddenly owning a car, Sharif having an affair for the last 7 years, Alya working at Underworld when we never see her, Eva being on personal days off. Beth being a polygamist.

  2. Not surprised really:a fool and her money are soon parted, as they say.
Sarah and her children have been living at her brother's for free for a long while now. If she's had a windfall and did the responsible thing of paying him back for that and all the other trouble she's caused, she'd have much less to waste on Phelan's schemes.

  3. The only way I could see her getting money is if Marian gives her some money from life insurance from Callum's death, money for her and the baby. If so, why wouldn't she also give some to David for Max? ...so maybe not.

  4. I like how people get money out of nowhere right when the plot calls for it. I wish I knew the secret to this in real life, short of becoming a criminal.

And Sarah, responsible? This is the woman who tangled up with a drug dealer to wind up David, got knocked up by him and ultimately got him killed (true, he was trying to kill her, but still).
