More details revealed about Kylie being killed off in Coronation Street

The Platt family were interviewed on Good Morning Britain today, talking about Kylie being killed off.  She'll leave the show on Friday night this week.

Helen Worth, Jack P Shepherd and Tina O'Brien, Ben Price and Lucy Fallon (Gail Rodwell, David, Sarah, Nick and Bethany Platt) were interviewed live and you can watch the video here.  Warning: contains Piers Morgan.

For those of you who can't see the video, here's what they said, in a nut-shell.

The woman from GMB who interviewed them on the cobbles is the real-life wife of Adam Rickitt, who once played Nick Tilsley in Corrie!

Ben (Nick) and Lucy (Bethany) say that Kylie's leaving contains some of the most emotional scenes they've ever seen in the show and Ben calls it 'devastating'. "It doesn't need much acting to say goodbye, you feel it," Ben says.

Jack (David) says that Kylie's final scenes are "harrowing" and that he had trouble filming them.

Helen Worth (Gail) gave a bit of a spoiler when she said that she is there when Kylie dies!

Watch the video and read the news about the killing-off of Kylie.

  1. Watching last night. I suspect that there's going to be a fight with gemma and callum's friends and a stray bullet is going to kill her as she is saying good bye.

  2. I agree that Callum's friends will be involved, and that there will be guns involved. I think Callum's friends will believe somehow that David was involved with Callum's death and go to shoot him but Kylie confesses throwing herself in front of David to save him and her kids and gets shot instead. Just a idea!

  3. Since Gail apparently is with Kylie when she dies, maybe Gail murderers her daughter-in law to keep Kylie from confessing about murdering Callum and David's and Sarah's part in it to protect Sarah?
Hence David having a meltdown when he realises that his brother and sister mean more to their mother than he does.

  4. No way is Gail going to murder Kylie. I agree it will have something to do with Callum's loser friends. I hope Gemma is involved and goes to jail.

  5. We have been promised that Kylie's death will be like no other ever seen on a soap before. Being shot by Callum's friends sounds too pedestrian to me. My guess is they will put a bullet to the head of Kylie's child/children, forcing her to confess before executing her. I don't recall children being used as hostages in a soap before.

A drive by shooting, then she dies in David's arms.

  7. I thought guns were prohibited in England?

  8. I agree that Kylie being shot by Callum's mates sounds a bit too pedestrian, although it is still possible that they are responsible for her death in some way. Taking one of the children as a hostage and forcing her to confess before killing her sounds possible, although we don't know for certain that they have any guns or that they even suspect Kylie of killing Callum. I wondered earlier if they might cause the taxi to explode after Kylie gets in it but perhaps this scenario does not really fit either. As Kylie is going to die in the 8.30pm episode, ie before the 9pm watershed for violent scenes, there is perhaps a limit as to exactly how shocking her death will be. I'm just not sure.

I would suggest the following alternatives:-

    1) Kylie is killed by Callum's friends, possibly in some way no-one has suggested yet.

    2) Kylie is killed by Bethany's bullies after confronting them. This might be quite shocking if teenagers were responsible for the death of an adult.

    3) Kylie is killed at the last minute in some freak accident, although I can't think of anything that hasn't been done before.

    4) Kylie commits suicide at the last minute as she can't live with the knowledge that she killed Callum and that a dead innocent man has been blamed for it. Perhaps she jumps in front of a speeding car in front of her family. However, as David apparently goes in search of those who killed Kylie perhaps this and the previous scenario are unlikely.

However she dies, I wonder if it will ever be revealed that she was Callum's killer, or if this knowledge will go to the grave with her. It is possible that Sarah could spill the beans at some point.

  9. Morbid I know but no one has ever hung themselves on Coronation Street before, maybe that's how she goes, all very suddenly and unexpected

  10. I am really going to miss Paula Lane. She is a wonderful actress and one of my favorite characters. It is too bad that she is being killed off with no chance to return. I wish her the best with her growing family.

  11. I'm still going with the dodgy slate from Norris's deal with Phelan, a slate falls and hits her in the head as they walk to the Rovers for goodbye drinks. Totally unexpected by the family and they could all be there as it happens. She could even see it and push one of the kids out the way, hitting her instead, protecting her family one last time.

  12. Kylie dies saving Gail.

  13. Wow! Such violent speculation. World news seems to fuel what we come to expect! I prefer entertainment of less sensationalism (if there is such a word).

  14. She might have an advance copy of the new Pokémon game and she steps out onto the street in front of Michael's new ice cream van just as she was about to zap a couple of near reality monsters. Points!!! Ahh, RIP Kylie.

  15. I wondered if it might be a massive stroke/heart attack brought on by all the guilt of the past year(s)? After all, the drugs she took could have weakened her.
    Has CS done that before?

  16. How violent can it be with guns or a drive by shooting before the watershed? So I don't think it could be that. It may be the bullies. Completely nothing to do with Callum, throw us all and open up a new can of worms....

  17. Since Alex is becoming friends with Gemma, perhaps she manipulates him to kill Kylie for her as revenge for Callum's murder but Alex gets with murder as no one on the Street has gotten away with murder.Hence David's need for revenge to get him.
Roy and Cathy break up and Alex joins his mother in Bali?

  18. I think the sudden arrival of Callum's friends is a red herring. Kylie accidentally falls into the hole in the Grannex while she and Gail are cleaning up. She dies is the exact spot where his body was buried. The 'never been done before' aspect is that it takes time for her to die, she is in extreme agony and surrounded by her family. In her final hours she reveals some truths not known before, such as Max and Lily's real paternity. She was legally still married to another man when she wed David and hence her whole life with him was a sham.

  19. Perhaps Bethany kills Kylie accidently due to a fight after Bethany finds out Kylie killed Callum which her mother knew about and Bethany blames Kylie for her mother's breakdown?
Since it's an accident,Bethany doesn't go to jail thus resulting David in making Sarah's life miserable for what her daughter has done.
Gail of course would take Sarah's and Bethany's side and Sarah would have a smug evil smile on her face happy that David's life is destroyed which is what she set out to when she dated Callum in the first place.

  20. Wow! What an imagination. But wasn't the hole in the grannexe filled in before it was redecorated for David and Kylie? I agree about the slow dying surrounded by her family, but not sure about the secret life. Woukd be a bit mean to deprive David of being Lily's father when he's already lost Kylie. Besides, didn't they do a paternity test to exclude Nick as the father?

  22. I've felt awful ever since finding out Kylie is going to die. I'm dreading Friday's episode :( Paula is such a good actress, I had hoped she could come back some day. I hope to see her take on new projects in the future. I can understand though of course wanting to be a Mum to her kiddies, all the best Paula!
