Les is back, Ryan's gone - and more news from the Corrie cast

Some of the Coronation Street cast were on ITV's This Morning this morning.  They were there to promote Corrie in tomorrow night's British Soap Awards.  The awards takes place in London and will be on TV on Sunday night.  We will - I repeat, we will - be announcing the winners here on the Blog after Saturday night's awards show.

On ITV's This Morning were Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Bradley), Connor McIntyre (Pat Phelan), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) and Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew).

Sally Ann (Jenny) spoke about returning as Jenny and says she's back "like a bad dose of nits!".  She revealed that her relationship with Johnny Connor might not be running smoothly.  She said it's massively different being back in Corrie these days to what it was like back when she was in the show last time. She's played Jenny Bradley - on and off - for over 31 years!

Dan (Billy the vicar) said his current storyline is great and he's been playing Billy for almost two years. Hasn't that gone quickly?

Connor (Pat) didn't give anything away about Pat Phelan but said he was a cold fish.

And Sue (Eileen) said her storyline with Pat is going to unfold and that Eileen truly loves Pat, because she can only judge him on what she has seen so far.  Sue said that Les Dennis (Michael Rodwell) is back on set filming again after taking a break to star on stage in a play.

Ryan Thomas has left now from playing the part of Jason Grimshaw. Sue said that his final scene was emotional and she was sobbing throughout the scene.

Watch the video interview here.

And if you haven't voted yet, you have until 5pm today - Friday 27 May - to vote for Corrie in the British Soap Awards.

  2. Dear God no! Never! Les Battersby should never tread the cobbles again.

Come to think of it, I haven't really missed Les what's-his-name at all.
