There's an interview with Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw, on the official Coronation Street ITV website. Ryan talks about the upcoming storyline for Jason which will throw him into turmoil when he finds out that his dad Tony has died.
Ryan says that Phelan find ways to manipulate the situation and really winds up Jason. He says that viewers will see a totally different side to Jason and that he'll become aggressive and confrontational. We've already seen the preview pictures of Jason's fight with Aidan Connor in the Rovers.
Ryan says: "This is going to be really horrible as a viewer to watch, as you'll see the downfall of Jason. You'll see the upset of how he loses his father. Just as you feel sorry for him, you'll feel more sorry because you've got Phelan trying to take everything from him It's really sad, actually."
Actor Ryan Thomas is leaving the show later this year. Read more on that here.

"viewers will see a totally different side to Jason" - Corrie-speak for 'total personality transplant to fit the storyline.'
ReplyDeleteThey did it with Graeme, Becky and Tina, and now with Carla, it's the way they write off popular characters who are chose to leave. Make us get so tired of them we want them gone. Hate to see what they have planned for Kylie.
ReplyDeleteabbyk,I thought Becky had a great exit,a happy ending with a nice bloke with a son after exposing Tracy's[a character I wouldn't miss]lie about pushing her down the stairs causing her to miscarry Steve's twins on her wedding day to Steve.
ReplyDeleteI also shudder at the thought of what the writers have planned for Kylie. As for Jason ,perhaps he and his mothere should've heeded Anna's warnings about Phelan.
