Sparks will fly when new girl Rana bursts onto Coronation Street, says ITV.
Rana, an old uni friend of Alya’s, will set Zeedan’s heart fluttering when she arrives in Weatherfield in February to pay Alya a visit.
It’s not long before Rana’s got herself a job at the medical centre and while many of the street’s residents have got their eyes on Rana it seems she’s got her sights firmly set on Alya’s brother Zeedan.
Rana will be played by Lancashire born actress Bhavna Limbachia who’s previously had roles in Citizen Khan and Cuffs.
She’ll first appear on our screens on Friday 19th February and as this first on set picture show she’s sure to make an impression.
Talking about her new role Bhavna said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the show. Being a proud Northerner - it's a dream come true!"

Sadly she didn't get a chance to shine on Cuffs so it'll be interesting to see her act a siren here.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!! Hopefully this means they're keeping Zeedan FAR FAR away from Leanne.
ReplyDeleteThe Medical Centre? Does that still exist? No doctor, no stories, no-one working reception, ...
ReplyDeleteThis storyline is rather bizarre given the fact that when the Nazirs first appeared on the street Zeedan gave his dad such a hard time about dating Leanne. At the time they kept leaking previews that Zeedan would fall for a young girl on the street that wasn't muslim and would understand how his dad felt. That all went out the window obviously.
ReplyDeleteHopefully she'll bring out something in pointless Alya too.
ReplyDeleteLoved Cuffs and agree with Llifon that it would be interesting to see her as a more prominent character, which she wasn't in that show.
ReplyDeleteMore of the Nazir's..good..about time too.
ReplyDeleteJust her appearance makes me think they want a new Tina McIntyre!
ReplyDeleteI give her maybe 2-3 months at best.
