Tonight's the night. Ginger-nut Jenny returns to Coronation Street!
The previews for tonight reveals that Rita has a secret meeting with Jenny in the park. Jenny assures Rita that she’s got her life back on track and asks
her if she can possibly forgive her.
However, Rita hesitates and Jenny flees
upset. In her haste Jenny drops her purse and Rita finds her address inside, tracking her down to a squalid bedsit.
Will Jenny admit
just what a mess her life is in?
Previews for next week show that Jenny ends up working in the factory and also, sadly, looks like she isn't yet done with little Jack.

Why on earth has Jenny Bradley been brought back? Will she steal the child of Kevin's that we never ever see? I am very disappointed that she has been brought back.
ReplyDeleteZzzz recycle Sophie angst, Norris moaning, everyone suspicious of Jenny. It's the same with Phelan. Been there, done all that. Creativity at zero right now.
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
ReplyDeleteGinger-nut! Hahaha....love it.
ReplyDeleteIs Sally Ann Matthews being brought back as a regular or is this another guest stint?
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled she's back. She was marvellous during her last stint.
ReplyDeleteNay for me. Just can't warm to her, even as an entertaining baddie.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in her return as long as they move her in a different direction. If she tries to go after Jack again I'll be skipping her scenes quickly. Particularly not looking forward to Anna giving her glares and spewing self-righteous indignation at her.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she'll get involved with Phelan, bonding over their current downswing in life, and she'll somehow find out Anna and Phelan's secret!
does not bode well for the street - TPTB could have done so much with this storyline in a positive slant, but no, they prefer to do the same old, same old. Pure rubbish.
ReplyDeleteThe same with Audrey and the heart attack. Seems to me this cropped up not long ago - with both Audrey & Gail being told to cut back on the G&Ts due to their elevated bp readings - doesn't anybody remember that classic scene where both Audrey & Gail were out power walking in the countryside? that was pure Corrie gold. I don't think I have laughed so much since then. The downside was they ran into Lewis at the pub (so much for not drinking) and then the rest is history, but the reason why they were out power walking was never mentioned again, until tonight. The same with David's epilepsy, Max's ADHD. All forgotten by the side of the road.
At least they haven't forgotten that AUdrey had some heart issues in the past. IT's not so unusual for someone to have recurrence of it, especially if they didn't keep to the exercise and non-drinking routine.
ReplyDeleteSally Ann Matthews is a very engaging actress and I'm glad Jenny's back. She acknowledges mental health issues (unlike equally unbalanced Mary) and is struggling in the early stages of recovery. One person believes in her, an entire family that scorns her, and she's poorly and has dim prospects, that's a lot of good dramatic material. She needs a job, something like cleaning Billy's church, so she can rebuild herself and maybe find a second ally, and, down the road, a chance to redeem as well. Fingers crossed for sensible, sensitive writing.
ReplyDeleteGood post abbyk. I thought that Corrie would deal with Jenny's issues regarding losing a baby and not getting over it. But they just shipped her off. I liked her. I like anyone who annoys Sally. I hope they don't drag her in to be just a temp villain then shove her out again.
ReplyDeleteIn regard to medical plot lines that fall by the wayside...the most annoying to me is Carla with the drinking..is she an alcoholic or not. If yes why is she always drinking??? It is like she only used it as a lie to get Peter away from Leanne.
I agree, if Jenny stays I don't want her to be a full blown villain with an inevitable exit!
DeleteAnd I think Carla had a problem with alcohol. She does drink more than she should but by no means an alcoholic
