Coronation Street celebrates its 54th anniversary today, December 9th 2015.

The very first episode of Corrie aired on December 9th, 1960.

Our blogger Barry (Sunny Jim) captured the first 50 years of Corrie in 50 blog posts, which were then turned into an online book by one of our readers - have a look at it here.

Happy anniversary, Coronation Street!

And if you have not yet seen The Road to Coronation Street, the BAFTA winning film about Tony Warren bringing Corrie to life, then it's highly recommended.
