Coronation Street has won the battle for top soap - and this time it's for selling memorabilia on ebay. An odd accolade, I'll grant you, but one worth a mention nonetheless.
Ebay UK has taken a look at how memorabilia sales for Coronation Street are doing compared to its soap rivals.
In the last three months, more than 3,000 Coronation Street related items have sold on eBay, that’s two every hour with listings including box-sets, Bet Lynch wigs and a fruit machine. Telly rival EastEnders follows close behind, selling 25 related items per day.
In third place is cult Australian soap Neighbours, selling more than 1,500 items in the last three months with current listings including masks, DVDs and signed photographs]. While latecomer Hollyoaks, which first aired in 1995, comes in fifth, selling just over six products per day, ranging from a Chris Fountain signed photograph to fitness DVDs with the cast.
