Gary sure has a lot of nerve!
ReplyDeleteNo he doesn't what has he done wrong? It's still his business!
ReplyDeleteLol, it's equivalent to 'should she return the ring', in a way. Yes he does have nerve, and I agree it is his business. Finally a real world treatment to a contract. It doesn't dissolve overnight! And this sets up Gary for interesting story lines in the gym without being married to Alya. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteGary should return the gift of partnership since it was a wedding gift. But since the wedding is cancelled he should return the contract back. Problem though is legally Sharif should have had a clause stating that Gary's share of the gym is to take effect after the wedding. As for Gary's excuse of taking care of his son I am certain that Roy would give Gary his job back.

ReplyDeleteI think Sharif could legally claim back that share, but this is Corrie. I could see Gary getting really gung ho and make that gym a blazing success.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth,I'm also on Gary's side as he did sign the papers in good faith and wantS to do right by his friend Kal.It's not fair that Gary is portrayed as the villain when Alya is the one who cheated.Besides if Sharif wanted to give the partnership as a wedding present why didn't he wait until Gary and Alya were married?
ReplyDeleteGary put no money into the gym. He didn't buy the partnership. It was a freebie. Legally, yes, he has a binding contract. Morally, he's taking a share of the business for free, knowing full well it was only given to him when he was part of the family.
ReplyDeleteAnd he is selfish. Has a break up, and runs off with no care to his responsibilities as a father. When life happens, you can't run out on your kids for a vacation. Epitome of selfish.
And Alya didn't cheat. She had already broken things off. Gary is a misogynist to boot.
Agree with Anonymous 2:01. It wasn't so long ago that Gary tried to cheat on Izzy with their surrogate Tina, which makes him a hypocrite as well. And the Tina situation was premeditated; in this case Alya broke up with him and then had a one night stand before they reconciled. I don't like Alya, but I'm on her side with this one and it's laughable to watch him try to take the moral high ground while keeping that share in the gym. It's not like she tried to rob a family friend's cafe.
ReplyDeleteLaura well said! I had forgotten about Gary trying to rob Roy.
