Yup, it would appear that Erica's going to start working behind the counter at Dev's shop.
It's already been rumoured that Erica may get together with Kev Webster.
And Dev also has a proposition for Erica when he asks her if she would like to start work at the shop. Next week on Corrie, Sophie is given a share of Kev's garage for her 21st birthday and starts helping him out there. This leaves Dev with no-one to run his corner shop for him and keep the cash rolling in to his Alahan empire.
I'm a big fan of Erica Holroyd so I like the sound of this story a lot.

Just checked Corriepaedia, Kevin and Tyrone own 50% each of the business. If Kevin gives Sophie 21% of his share it means Tyrone is the boss of Websters Autos. Could be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI just find Erica pointless whoever she is with - whether it's Nick, Dev, Lloyd, Kevin etc... The character is just bland and if she left tomorrow for good, no one would notice.
ReplyDeleteErica's got potential. She may be the making of Dev or they may turn out to be the most boring couple in the Street. That is, after Chesney and Sinead. And Robert and Tracy. Form an orderly queue.
ReplyDeleteNot if they issue more shares, which would take Tyrone's allotment down as a percentage. I'm assuming they've already had to do this since Kevin expanded the business to take on new contracts but Tyrone didn't want to be part of the expansion. It all boils down to how many individual shares the business has issued, not just a simple percentage.
ReplyDeleteErica does have potential but they're going to lose the actor if they don't start doing something with her. Having her serve in the corner shop doesn't seem the best use for a sparky character like Erica but I'm at a loss as to what might be aside from working behind a bar or owning a business in her own right.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think she has potential. She has brought absolutely nothing to the show since she turned up a year ago, and nothing the writers have tried to do with her has worked. I'll be surprised if she isn't axed.
ReplyDeleteErica just doesn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteNo, another mistake.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Erica - she needs to go back under the rock she came from.
ReplyDeleteIm in the minority but I like Erica, esp with Liz and wish she were working at the Rovers. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteCan't help but think this will pale in comparison to having Julie there.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I just assumed this or what, but I thought Erica had a good bit of money in her own right - why would she was Sophie Webster's sloppy seconds?
I love Erica! She does nothing. It's great! She just sits down on a bar stool and drinks. This could really make things more interesting. More scenes in the Shop please!
ReplyDeletewhy do all the characters have to be paired off?? Ken & Audrey, Mary & her new married beau, now perhaps Erica with Kevin or Dev, or maybe Anna with Kevin, what's going to happen to Luke now that Maria has gone on extended maternity leave?? Or Eileen, now that Michael is leaving?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Eileen will get together with Luke? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI guess this means she'll be hooking up with Dev then? Why not?
ReplyDeleteI think she'll be out of place in the shop. They need someone more community (and gossip) oriented - like Mary. Erica is like a watered-down version of Audrey's friend Claudia, and the character seems to be going nowhere. At least they are trying something new for her I suppose. If it doesn't boost her character's profile she's likely to drift away. Remember Jenna, anyone?
ReplyDeleteThat's a poor job for Erica. I would think she's more of a business woman.
ReplyDeleteI could see Erica working in the pub, or even the Bistro - yes, that Bistro. However, her in a corner shop does not make sense. There are many other potential characters who'd be much better suited for the gossip and banter with Dev. Even Eva would be a better choice!
ReplyDeleteWhy do all the character have to work in the Street? Why couldn't Erica be a PA or something, say at the Town Hall or any office in Manchester? We don't always need to see people at work.
ReplyDeleteOh jeez, not more Erica. She does not fit in for me. Putting her in the corner shop is so ridiculous. It feels like they were just trying to stick her somewhere to honor her contract. The corner shop person should be a long standing community member, someone who has history and can swap stories etc...everything that Erica is not. I agree with a previous statement that she is a watered down version of Claudia. And for Pete's sake, stop trying to pair her with every single guy on the street.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Erica can get a job in the Webster empire when he decides to expand and rent luxury cars -- Erica could run that.
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth would they not hire Erica for the Rovers? She's mates with Liz and would fit in there perfectly! Dopey Sarah is rarely at work so there is an opening! I can't see Erica in the corner shop at all.
