Coronation Street has made front-page news today, but for all the wrong reasons. Actor Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw in Corrie, has been arrested after a drunken bust-up in a pub.
Ryan spent a night in the cells at Kendal Police Station. Cumbria Police confirmed last night he was one of three arrested
The Mirror reports that he had been at the Wheelhouse Club and Lounge, Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District. A row is reported to have broken out in the toilets on Saturday night and police were called at 1.09am on Sunday morning.
One onlooker said: “He was there with four or five mates but it all kicked off in the loos. Suddenly about five or six police vans turned up.”
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.”
Ryan recently announced that he will be leaving his role as Jason in Coronation Street in 2016.

I guess it is a good job that he is set to leave, otherwise I doubt corrie bosses would be too keen with all this bad publicity - I just really hope it doesn't upset his chances of getting a US work permit, depending on the final charges. Either way it really was a stupid thing to do. Not worth risking your potential job offers.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't worry about the US work permit.
ReplyDeleteI still think he's only leaving because his ex is back in the cast.
