Trailer video: Will Max be killed off on Coronation Street?

The official Coronation Street website at itv.com/corrie have released a trailer teaser video of events leading up to the Coronation Street Live episode that will air on Wednesday September 23.

It's all about Callum and the Platts as things build to a head. Normally this wouldn't interest me enough to watch the whole video, as this is a storyline I'd like over and done with.  However, I found myself oddly hooked and suggest you might like to take a look.

The video is probably only available to those in the UK so for overseas fans and those who want to know what's going to happen - here it goes.

The video appears to show Callum kidnapping Max in his car and demanding £20,000 cash from David and Kylie for Max's safe return.  Gail chucks something at Callum and screams at him to get out of her house.  Then there's a scene where Max is with both David and Callum and he calls David 'my dad'. Callum's not best pleased, as you can imagine, especially when Max tells him he hates him.  Max then runs into the road right in front of Nick driving onto the street in the Bistro van. Will Nick run his nephew over?  That's when the video ends...

Have a look at it here.

  1. I'd be surprised if they did it but it would be an interesting twist, wouldn't it?

  2. I feel like these teasers about kids who might die are a weird sort of hook. We have pretty much decided that we don't care about the adults who might die on the show, but even the mention of a kid possibly dying produces an emotional response. Bingo.

  3. What is it with the bloody Platts and automobile accidents. Revoke all their licenses already jeesh.

  4. I hope they don't write him out for ratings, as child actors go, he's not too bad. The Platts have had far worse, as in the early Sarah Lou, or the second Nick.

  6. Wasn't there supposed to be a death in September? (I believe that was mentioned a few months ago).

If it does turn out to be Max I will be pretty shocked. He's actually the one decent kid on the Street.

  7. I am guessing no. Nick will stop in the the nic of time (sic) but Max will be injured. He will occupy the same bed at Wethy General that other cast members have, perhaps with the very same tubes up his nose. An emergency operation will require a DNA test and an organ donor who matches. Callum will volunteer. It will turn out that Callum is not a match and thus could not possibly be the boy's father. A sheepish Kylie will admit that working a pole dancer was indeed slippery business. Callum will leave as he no hold upon Kylie any longer, apologizing for the misundertanding.

  8. It would be a cynical move to kill Max off just to get ratings. My guess he will be very injured and while in hospital tells the police and doctors the truth about Callum. Could that be the reason Callum gets a (fake) passport? He'll die in a car crash on the way to the airport, escaping the police.

  9. Hopefully Nick swerves into Callum who dives after Max. Then can we please see Sarah and Bethany return to Milan and we have 12months of no major storylines for the Platts.

  10. Intresting... I hope Max doesn't die as he is played by a good child actor. My guess is that he'll be injured and reliasing the true nastiness of Callum, tells the police. Then Callum makes a run for it and tries to escape with false passports. Then, his stupid car crashes in a police chase. Callum survives without major injuries but Gemma is killed. Or maybe they try to do a runner with Max?

  11. What is with the writers and children lately?First Jack Webster is almost killed by Jenny Bradley, then Hope Stape could be dying of cancer and now Max may be killed by Uncle Nick?!
I think this will definitely tear the family apart if Gail takes Nick's side over David and Kylie.Sarah better not be whining 'I'm so sorry' oe taking the coward's way out to Milan either as all this is down to her dating Callum out of spite to David.

  12. Ahh. Interesting! ITV is sick and tired tired of leaks, rightly so, and is forced to do multiple endings. But, for a live episode, who knows how sneaky, like good parents, they'll be. Just like Christmas morning, we'll have to wait until the big day. That's proper! Let's enjoy.

  13. They can't kill one sweet young kid and have another suffer through cancer at the same time. That's too much.

  14. how can you show a trailer for a live eрisode? Surely it hasn't been filmed yet?

  15. Hi everyone, sorry for any confusion but it does say in the first first line of the blog post that this is "a trailer teaser video of events LEADING UP TO the Coronation Street Live episode"

    Hope that helps!

  16. Nah..Callum will be offed by Gemma, who, finally has had enough of the creep and ends it once and for all.

  17. If max is killed, which it looks like because nick is going way too fast, then callum will probably definitely be arrested and then released again. Its the way these storylines go.
