Fiz and Tyrone heartbroken over Hope's cancer diagnosis

Poor little Hope.  Doesn't get a mention for months, no screen time in years and then next thing you know it, she's getting a cancer storyline.

Inside Soap magazine this week reveals that Hope will be diagnosed with cancer, and that Fiz and Tyrone will be heartbroken.

Hope, you'll remember, is the daughter of the late John Stape.

As Hope's cancer diagnosis sinks in for Tyrone and Fiz, Fiz starts taking out her worries and frustrations on Tyrone.  She accuses him of not caring for Hope as much as he cares for Ruby, who is his own daughter. Her mum, you'll recall, was Kirsty.

Fiz takes time off work to look after Hope at home but when new Underworld boss Aidan Connor spots Fiz in the Street and asks he what she thinks she's playing at, it's Tyrone who defends his wife.  He tells Aidan what's wrong with Hope, and then Fiz is even more furious that everyone knows the truth.

However, Fiz then has a heart to heart with Roy and that makes Fiz think on a bit.

Could there be any hope for Hope?  We already know that Tyrone and Fiz are in for a cruel Christmas...

  3. I thought John Stape was dead and not locked up in prison.

  4. I am so not looking forward to this storyline! I find the character of Fizz extremely annoying. To have to listen to her constantly whining for months will probably cause me to stop watching. How cruel of the producers to subject the viewers to watching a little girl die.

  5. Looking forward to Roy's reaction and take on little Hope's condition. I'd love to see Roy display some emotions (cry etc) on finding out about her condition, shedding the tears he couldn't for Hayley (trying to be strong etc). He did cry when he "lost" Patience (Amy). I think the audience would love to shed a tear with Roy over his surrogate granddaughter, who meant so much to Hayley.

  6. Although it seems inevitable for Fiz to question Tyrone's love for Hope in comparison to Ruby, at the same time it's unfair. Everything we know about Tyrone suggests that, above all, what he's wanted most is to have his own family. Would Fiz care less if Ruby had cancer, just because Ruby is not her biological child? If the storyline is going to refer to the dynamics of their mixed family, it would have been nice to have a scene or two along the way where we saw how the parents were handling childcare and/or ironing the wrinkles that seem like they would inevitably come with integrating two very young girls into a new untested family unit.

  7. I was afraid this would happen that Fiz would start bullying Tyrone just like Hayley did with Roy when she had cancer. It will be bad enough seeing her being mad at him for telling her boss about their daugter's illness to save her job but to imply that Tyrone isn't concerned enough about Hope is downright cruel and I think makes Fiz less sympathetic.
If Hope does die, there better not be a scene in which Fiz thinks it should've been Ruby instead.

  8. If hoрe dies then the family unit will be 2 white рarents and a black child - maybe mixed race families can work?

  9. A child dying of cancer as a Christmas storyline. How festive and uplifting. Jeez...I don't think I am looking forward to this.

  10. For what it's worth, considering their ccmmittment to each other and ttheir children ,I don't think it's fair for Fiz to question Tyrone's love for Hope.Max is not David's biological son but he loves the boy as much as Lily and I'm sure it's the same for Tyroen with Hope.
That bit of bullying by Fiz was not necessary to the storyline.

  11. Who said she dies? I haven't read that anywhere. I can't see it happening and agree that Fiz' whining and Tyrone's "am sorrah" every two minutes is going to be aggravating to say the least.
More of Craig please..needs a storyline..he'd make a great friend to Roy..both quirky but awesome at the same time.
