Meet new Corrie character Talisa

Actress Samantha Power,
who will play Talisa on Corrie
Dev's ladyfriend Talisa will turn up on the cobbles next week.

Clearly rattled by the appearance of yet another woman in Dev's life, Julie gets jealous.

On Monday night we'll see Julie taking Talisa to task when she quizzes her about how long she plans to stick around. Julie then suggests it's time for Talisa to get a job and suggests she teach yoga at the community centre.

Talisa will be played by actress Samantha Power, who has appeared in Coronation Street before.

She turned up in 1995 as Emma Baxter, a potential purchaser of No. 9 from the Duckworths.

Her role in Coronation Street was one of her first parts but she has since built up a strong CV including A Prince Among Men, Peak Practice, City Central, Where the Heart Is, a regular role in Little Britain and The Cup, Waterloo Road and several parts in Doctors.

  1. I'm a bit surprised. I thought Talisa would be an Indian woman.

  2. Wow, I totally thought Talisa was going to be a beautiful Indian woman he met while he was in India, not a middle aged British blond woman. Now it just seems silly and contrived for an exit.

  3. I don't have a problem with the woman being middle aged, as Dev is also middle aged, but I did think she would be Indian.

  4. She looks a bit like Tyrone's mom, Jackie:)

  5. I'm surprised that Dev is parading all these women in and out of his children's lives. They must be confused. They've already lived with a lot of mummy's and daddy's between him and Sunita. Then he upt and went to find himself for a few months leaving them with two squabbling women, one who was his girlfriend for only a very short time. In the real world what single parent does that? Mary's much more of a stable influence on those kids, and I can't believe I'm saying that. Dev's another idiot character they no longer know where to take him.
