Corrie's Claire King in new film, A Reason to Leave

Claire King, who plays Erica Holroyd on Coronation Street, was interviewed on ITV's Loose Women today.

She talked about playing Erica on Corrie and there was a teaser of the programme to be shown tonight in which Erica celebrates her 50th birthday. It's a milestone birthday and one that Erica doesn't seem to be looking forward to at all. Well, in her condition and all.

She said she much preferred playing a bad girl in soaps to playing someone good as it's more interesting as an actress.

Claire revealed she's just filmed a movie too, called A Reason to Leave. It was filmed in Tuscany, Italy and you can find out all about it here.

  1. Got excited then when I read the words 'Claire King.....leave' in the same sentence. But now I'm disappointed that I misinterpreted.

  2. Me too. I would truly rather see the oddity that would be a relationship between Nick and Carla rather than this cougarfest gone horribly, horribly wrong.

  3. Erica belongs with Marc/Marcia. Let them go off together into some drag queen haven.

  4. She works well with Liz, and Liz needs a confidante, especially now that she's about to lose Diedrie. I don't like the relationship with Nick either, but it often takes a while for the writers to get a handle on a new character (if they ever do!) and discover which contexts they work in.
