Antony tweeted details of his new deal yesterday. It simply said: “Just a quick @itvcorrie update. I have signed to stay with the show July 2016. Happy days #StreetLife”
I do hope this means we'll see more of Billy the Vicar.

Well no doubt my post will be removed but I just cannot bear this character with his arm folding and head tossing style of acting. Once a good character, he is now well past his sell by and is just plain awful but no doubt one of SB's little "gang" so is one of the untouchables.
ReplyDeleteI know Sean has his fans on this site but his character really needs to be moved on from its current state. He could be OK if they pair him up with Billy, and they become a background couple on the Street. The Street needs a few couples who are 'just there', with no explosive storylines, giving some realism to the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite glad to see this. I always liked Sean and agree, hope this means Billy will be around too!
ReplyDeleteI love Sean, so glad his contract has been renewed.
ReplyDeleteSomebody has to be there to help Eileen after she finds out what Todd's been up to. Also..wedding in the future? Hopefully.
ReplyDeleteI think Sean is great and ads quite a bit of humour and pithy comments. I would like to see him find a steady relationship (Billy seems too good to be true) and get a place of his own.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know he's staying on. Was there any doubt, really?
I always liked Sean Everyone's Best Friend, and his character seems to be maturing with Billy, Very happy he'll be around for a while.
ReplyDeleteGood news for me too, as Sean can almost always be relied on for some levity on the show. Has he ever has his own place though? Wouldn't that be nice, but now it may mean adding the vicarage to filming locations. Ballykissangel for 2015!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU SEAN!!!!
ReplyDelete- Pod
I also like Sean and I hope the writers allow his character to mature a bit under Billy's influence (but not too much!).
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me he fits into that street. He is as flawed as every other character but with some redeeming virtues, unlike a few others we could mention. He is a character that has been under-explored. He lives had-to-mouth and in his forties, how does he feel about aging into poverty? As a gay man past his prime, does he feel marginalized? Does he worry about HIV? What about his family relationships? Rather than bringing in a new character every other week, it seems to me the existing ones could be explored.
ReplyDeleteWe are Team Sean in our household. I've always loved him. He's funny and a good solid friend to everyone. I too hope they keep him with Billy in a good way and let the relationship mature into one that lasts. We do need more solid couples on the street and my vote is for Sean and Billy!
ReplyDeleteI agree he has not been explored. There is so much they could do. I'd love to see him get permanent custody of Dylan somehow. That would allow us to see the parental and more caring side of Sean.
@ Anon 18:25 - Love your comment and fully agree.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't like Sean. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteLike Billy though - hope we do see more of him.
I'm glad Sean is staying on. I'm enjoying is story with Billy right now (Billy is an absolutely delightful character). I've always liked Sean a great deal.
ReplyDeleteAlways have enjoyed Sean...the writers continue to come up with interesting story lines and some stellar comments, which Anthony presents beautifully.......
