Thomas Ormson (pictured left) played the character of David Platt from December 1990 to March 2000, and then Jack P. Shepherd took over the role one month later.

  1. It's not often that a child/teenager cast for a soap role turns out to be a brilliant actor as a grown-up... but Coronation Street has at least two prime examples in Jack P Shepherd and Simon Gregson.

  2. I never thought Simon G. was much of an actor in the early years but he's come on very well. Jack P. has always had talent.

  3. I am such a fan of Jack P Shepard! The life he's had to endure at the the hands of his Mother Gail, let's just say, he's 'risen above his raisin', in true Corrie fashion!

  4. I love David Platt, he's one of my favourites.

I just wish he would sort woodentop Callum out once and for all.

  5. What a cute picture. I have always been a fan of Jack Shepard. He has had an interesting career on the street. At least, he is one kid, who they let grow up and develop with many aspects to his character, good and bad and mostly bad, then good. Unlike Tracy, who they seem to let swim in her one dimensional pool forever.
I think we are all waiting for evil David to appear and put Callum in his place for good.

  7. What a cute pic! I had forgotten all about Barney until Gail showed that pic to Callum's mom when they met. I like Jack P as well and hope he's around for a long time.
