While he was there, Simon posed with some of the Coronation Street waxworks including Jack and Vera.
And Bet Lynch.
Simon also took time out to pose and have a gurn with one of our Coronation Street Blog competition winners, Emma Cameron-Pryde.
Simon said: "The Rovers is my home away from
home and the set at Madame Tussauds Blackpool is just like the real
thing. The wax figures here are so lifelike, it is easy to get carried
away chatting to them."It is great to be by the seaside - Blackpool and Coronation Street are both British institutions. I just have to watch out for the trams."

Bett looks a bit generous on Madame's part.
ReplyDeleteMy advice is don't go expecting the place to be ANYTHING like the Rovers, it isn't. The layout, proportions, decor, infact there isn't anything that's correct. Whoever got the commission to design this should never work again, it's abysmal! They couldn't even be bothered to put a few fake beer pumps with the Newton & Ridley logo on them, it's all just a commercial scam with Heineken for sale.
ReplyDeleteSeriously a tourist rip off and an insult to any Corrie fan expecting a homage to the Rovers.
