Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, stopped by at Wynyard Woods Care Home, in Stockton, and Middlesbrough Grange, in Ormesby, on Saturday with his wife Lucy-Jo Hudson. Lucy-Jo played Katy Harris in Coronation Street.
The Teesside Gazette reports that the pair were guests of honour at a Coronation Street Bistro-themed lunch, where they enjoyed freshly prepared food with the staff, residents and relatives at the homes.
A spokesperson for Middlesbrough Grange said residents had been looking forward to the visit.
“Our residents love watching Coronation Street and so they were really excited to see Tyrone in real life,” the spokesperson said.
Alan and Lucy-Jo signed autographs and memorabilia for residents and staff, and took part in a raffle. Have a look at the gallery of pictures here.
What a lovely thing to do.

That's why they're such good actors because they're such decent people!
ReplyDeleteWhat a *fun* event that must have been for the residents and happy couple! That was a lovely gesture indeed! Love our *Ty*...
ReplyDeleteMy sister a nurse works in Rehab and Rehabilitation at our local hospital in Canada. A large majority of her patients are elderly folk recovering from strokes and falls. She has had many delightful conversations with a lot of ladies who are originally from the U.K. and are huge Corrie fans.
ReplyDeleteHow kind and generous was it for Alan and Lucy Jo to spend time with the residents, staff and their families!
Allan Halsall brings Tyrone that inner beauty that makes us love him.
