Preview of tonight's Coronation Street, Weds 26 Nov

Wednesday 26th November
STEVE’S OBSESSION WITH HIS CAR ACCELERATES. Frustrated at Steve’s attitude, Liz continues to hound him telling him it’s time he started pulling his weight and did some work but Steve’s unresponsive. Lloyd tries to talk to Steve, concerned that he’s throwing his life away. But Steve’s only interested in his sports car and when Tyrone breaks the news to him that it needs £2k’s worth of repairs, more than the value of the car, Tyrone’s stunned when Steve tells him to go ahead with the work. Meanwhile Liz dupes Steve and Michelle into working the same shift, hoping it’ll give them a chance to talk. Will her efforts be rewarded?
ALL IS NOT AS IT SEEMS WITH MICHAEL’S SON. When Gavin fails to turn up for his appointment at the salon, Michael gives him a call. At first Gavin shouts at Michael to leave him alone but later calls at No.8 apologising for snapping and suggesting it might be better if they didn’t see each other again. Michael’s gutted and begs Gavin to reconsider. Will he agree?
DEV HAS A CASE OF THE GREEN EYED MONSTER. Dev does his best to sabotage Dominic’s date with Julie by warning him that she’s already got him pegged for marriage and sleeps with 9 cats on her bed.
ELSEWHERE Craig gives Norris his first lesson on his tablet computer and shows him how to download the astronomy app.

Liz is seriously beginning to grate on my nerves. If she bawls at Steve again - WHART ARE YER PLEYYING ART?? - Frosty is going to punch the screen. They seem to be making her a rather unlikeable character and is turning into a selfish old witch. Get back to Spain love.

  3. Right now,I think Norris and Craig along with Julie and Dev are the only saving graces of Corrie right now.The other storylines are either mean-spirited or simply depressing to watch.I agree with the comments about Liz and Michelle and shudder as I think if poor Steve is driven to the brink, they would still make about them and act like martyrs.

  4. Liz is supposed to be Steve's mother, surely she of all people would pick up that there is something amiss with her son instead of sitting on Tony's lap and snogging him all the time? Dreadful woman. Steve's obsession with his car ACCELERATES - pun intended??

  5. The Liz and Michelle show needs to stop. Do the writers not know what to do with them regarding Steve's depression story or are they purposely making them look like the most self centered, dense human beings on the planet? I can understand small clues being lost on someone, but when your loved one is acting SO incredibly out of character, saying and doing outrageous things that do not add up, any normal person would think...My God what's wrong with him? Something is not right. I think he needs help. Especially his mother! But no, we're getting the "buck up" and "poor me" reactions. So, I guess the people around Steve really are just self centered asshats.

Most people these days have some experience with depression somewhere in their family, so watching this mismatched cause and effect is pretty tough. The writers need to do a better job, as always.

  6. Does anyone other than me think that Michael might NOT be Gavin's father?

  7. I am definitely suspicious of Gavin! All we see is that Michael's note is pushed through the letterbox of the place where Gavin apparently lives, and then this young man appears saying he is Gavin. For all we know, the apparent ex-girlfriend could also be in on whatever scam it is. And another thing, apparently within a nanosecond of appearing on our screen, Gavin is working at the bistro and being eyed up by Steph. So he is really getting his feet under the table double quick! I wish tptb would stop flooding the show with new characters, and just concentrate on the established ones. And there are no twists and turns in the plots anymore to keep us on our toes. A child could easily predict future developments, no problem. It seems to me that the writers only persist in bringing in new characters because they haven't got the skill to think up new and original stories foe the existing characters. That's it, rant over, trying to go back to sleep now!

  8. I agree that Gavin will probably turn out not to be Poor Ol' Me Michael's real son, he probably died years ago, cue more wallowing and this guy is a con artist. Gail seems to be remarkably flush just coughing up £100 like that. I thought Lewis Archer cleared this silly woman out?

  9. Rossie - you are clever! Gavin is clearly evasive when asked about his Mum, etc., so perhaps you are right about him being a con artist. Won't that put Michael to wailing even more frequently and for longer periods. I'm quite tired of his moaning on and on...no longer elicits sympathy from me.

  10. In reference to gavin not being gavin - well, in the last eрisode he was definitely looking at final reminders with gavin's name and address on them. It looks quite real to me :)

  11. Who's clever boys/girls then? A great plot twist.
