Much is being made about Liz McDonald's jacket over on twitter this morning - and of course, Deirdre's wobbly trifle too.
Thanks to some of our great twitter followers and bloggers here we go with a little video of Deirdre getting a trifle upset. She's got hundreds and thousands of reasons to chuck it at the wall. Jelly shouldn't run, it should wobble!
Did anyone else spot the trifle bowl smash, then a bit of the trifle or the bowl hit the lamp to the left of the scene, causing a puff of smoke to go up in the air?

A brilliant scene - one of the funniest for years. Some of the fools on digital spy just didn't get it and thought it was supposed to be a serious part of the programme. I suppose they're happier with the darker shenanigans in the cockney soap
ReplyDeleteI found it funny as well. Would take this over a so called "gritty" story with rape after a long hard day.
ReplyDeleteYou can't pay attention to people on Digital Spy. They always get the wrong end of the stick.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was really silly. I also thought it was a bit daft that her signature trifle looked exactly like a bog standard Birds Trifle. Thumbs down to the props department!
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to be bog standard Anon @11.34. She was disappointed with the trifle which, by her own admission, wasn't up to scratch.
ReplyDeleteI loved the scene!! Even though poor Deirdre is at her wits end, I actually fell around laughing which is the reaction I'm sure they were hoping for.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteThe comments on DS about Corrie v EE are so utterly biased in favour of the latter, sometimes stupidly so, that it leads me to suspect it is some sort of organised campaign.
It was a good scene but i didn't take it as a comedy one. Poor Deirdre reaching the end of her rope, and just losing it altogether, poor thing. Didn't catch the smoking lamp though, well spotted!
ReplyDeleteIt was both funny and poignant, just like the mad things that happen at funerals (real life ones). The sort of thing that isn't funny at the time but you laugh about afterwards. Watching as a viewer, I chuckled because it was an unexpected scene rather than a hilarious one.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the lamp sputtered out and just smoked, it would have been awkward if it had burst into flames behind Tracy's back!
