Jenny Bradley to return to Coronation Street

Sally Ann Matthews in Corrie
With thanks to Digital Spy for this great news.

Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn has confirmed that Jenny Bradley will be returning to the show.

Actress Sally Ann Matthews is reprising her role as Jenny after more than two decades away from the soap, and will return to our screens this winter.

Sally Ann Matthews appeared in the soap as Jenny from 1986 until 1991, and made a brief appearance again in 1993.

Jenny's stand-out storylines from her time in Weatherfield include being fostered by Rita Tanner and blaming her for her father Alan's death.

  1. I hope she comes back a changed person, maybe with a child of her own. I'd hate to see her come back and treat Rita like a cash cow yet again, laying a sob story on her and generally being bitchy to all and sundry. Maybe she and Kevin can have a brief fling. She won't be that much younger and there won't be too many other people left that she would know anymore besides Sally and Kevin and Gail, Ken and Deirdre. Anyone else would have been a kid (Steve, Tracy, Nick, David)

  3. Yet another bad move from Stuart Blackburn, has he been charged with killing Corrie off? Bringing back awful characters, introducing new ones who can't act for toffee, whatever next? The audience can only take so much. He has to go!

  4. I usually love hearing former characters are returning, but this news is leaving me cold. Would much rather it was Angie Freeman or Debbie Webster. Hopefully there will be some sort of twist to make it more interesting than it looks so far.

  6. I was also thinking that perhaps Rita will die. Or maybe move away with her "family"?

Another horrible character being hoiked back. Who cares about Jennie Bradly - a bad egg. Rita being taken in, Norris being suspicious, Rita ignoring him and putting him down, only for him to be right all along when Jennie tries to relieve Rita of his bottomless pit of cash. Soooo predictable and frankly boring.

Explosive storyline blah blah feisty woman blah blah fab interview with Stuart Blackburn blah blah her return is just around the corner blah blah only kidding she's not due to start filming until next week blah blah alternative endings have been filmed.

  9. Frosty, I agree with your comments completely. I couldn't stand the character and am not looking forward to her return at all. Last thing we need is another bitchy woman.

  11. I agree with everything anonymous said at 23:16. Pratt in the Hat has to go. He is ruining my beloved corrie. Please have the nazirs get blown up in their new shop. All of them.

  12. My feelings on this is...what's the point? I barely remember her anyway. It's just another rehash of Dennis Tanner coming back in Rita's life. Surely there
were other characters more worthy of screen time. There are already too many people now, why bus in someone like her?
I'd rather see Spider come back and give Emily a story line. We had quite a bit of Rita in the not so distant past. It's time for someone else to get a story line now.
Oh....and I agree, the Nazirs need to go. They don't fit in, especially the sneering Zeedan....he is horrible to watch.
