The Coronation Street Tour is welcoming back some familiar faces to the cobbles throughout the next two months, as Richard Hillman, Maureen Naylor and Reg Holdsworth return for special evening tours.
During September and October the former Coronation Street actors will make a special appearance on the Street and visitors who book onto tours between 4pm and 6pm will be able to meet and have a picture taken with them. The stars will also share stories from their time on the soap.
Coronation Street’s most notorious serial killer, Richard “Tricky Dicky” Hillman played by Brian Capron, will be returning to the scene of his many crimes on Thursday 18 September.
Ken Morley, who played the eccentric manager of Bettabuys, Reg Holdsworth, will be visiting the cobbles on Thursday 25 September.
Sherrie Hewson, who played Reg’s on-screen wife Maureen Naylor, will be visiting on Thursday 2 October.
Sherrie said: “I can’t wait to meet everyone, swap stories and gossip, maybe even tell a few forbidden secrets!! I have such great memories and am so thrilled and proud to have worked on the most iconic show on television.”
Coronation Street The Tour’s general manager, Andy Begg, added: “We are extremely excited to be having Richard, Sherrie and Ken here with us on the cobbles. Our visitors love to meet them and hear their fascinating backstage stories and I know the stars get a kick out of being back here too.”
The series of special appearances follows on from the success of a recent string of appearances from Kevin Kennedy who played Curly Watts on the soap.
There are limited tickets available for the appearances and so those who would like to visit will have to be quick. Tickets, which are available at no extra cost, can be booked now at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/coronationstreet.

Oh fiddlesticks, I've already been!
ReplyDeleteNever been and probably never will especially now since they will be demolishing the set... on the other hand, the Street isn't so much a physical space but a character in our collective story-telling about a neighborhood in Manchester steeped in history and the voices of characters who came alive as they worked, gossiped, loved, fought... we saw the best and the worst of ourselves and so we believed they lived or could live somewhere in such a street ... I don't need a tour. I just need the show to return to the quality it once was when Coronation Street was the street I could visit in my mind and enjoy anytime, anywhere without buying either an airline ticket or a tour package.
