It's Friday again so it's time for this week's fab Coronation Street photo. What the Street is really missing these days is an old curmudgeon and a dotty pensioner. Here are my favourite ones, Albert Tatlock and the marvellous Minnie Caldwell.

    I'm blessed to have known them both, characters played and characters in real life. They don't make them like that anymore, mores the pity.

    Two fabulous actors who breathed life into characters who might have been just caricatures. I wish too that in the current episodes we had such two interesting characters, old or younger.
