Coronation Street Christmas spoilers - two weddings and a baby

In this week's fab Inside Soap magazine, Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn hints at some of the big Corrie Christmas storylines.

He says this: "Kylie has a massive story in December and we'll be cutting to The Rovers where Steve is trying to gain control of his life and give everyone a good Christmas.

"We've also got a baby arriving and two Tinker weddings.  Then in the middle of January there will be complete tragedy involving lots of characters.  It's really exciting stuff."

Now then, this two Tinker wedding thing. We know Beth and Kirk are going to get wed so this must mean either that their wedding doesn't go ahead the first time and they do it a second. Or it could mean that Sinead and Chesney got wed too.  I wonder who's pregnant, though?

And as for this January tragedy, Stuart also comments in an unrelated bit of the interview that they can now get a fire engine for the first time down the cobbles.  Interesting!

  1. I'm betting it's Eva to work in the actress's pregnancy?

  2. Another fire? Wasn't that the big story last year? I just don't get why SB feels everything has to be a massive sensational story line. I think he is a frustrated producer who would rather be involved in explosive action movies. But alas...he's on Corrie Street.

  3. Yes I bet it's Eva's because it doesn't look like they're going to write in Fiz's (Jennie) or Kylie's (Paula). I'd love to see Jason as a dad! Another fire indeed. that would be redundant. Maybe the Bistro goes up in smoke. Again. For good. I hope ;)

  4. A Christmas baby! That's so original! The writers must have been able to decamp to the pub at 9.05am after thinking of that one.

  5. Yes Eva and Jason having a child would be lovely, but Catherine Tyldesley is already three months pregnant, and if the storyline did begin at Christmas, Catherine wouldn't have long left on screen. In fact, Eva would probably give birth in Summer next year, around the time Catherine could return. It's a shame that it wouldn't work. As long as it's not Michelle or Katy who's pregnant, I'm not bothered.

  6. Nah, just bring out that old soap saw, the premature birth, problem solved. Almost as original as the Xmas baby.
