Mikey North as Gary Windass and Cherylee Houston as
Izzy Armstrong are two fantastic actors playing two wonderful
characters.
In short, Gary and Izzy are one of my favourite Coronation Street couples, ever.
Please, Coronation Street, put them back together and make them whole and happy again.

Nah - dont mind Gary but dont like Izzy with her "startled" look all the time and constant nagging and moaning. Why do they always discuss their relationship in the middle of the Street when they have the privacy of their own home where they live together? Oh its so Ayla can walk past, which is now becoming frankly ludicous!
ReplyDeleteThey used to be so nice together. It's too bad all the stress over the building project seems to have taken it's toll here, too.
ReplyDeleteThey should be enjoying baby Jake and his first year :-/ --Smelloid
ReplyDeleteI expect they will re-unite in time; that seems to be the pattern these days. A crisis, something to do with their baby perhaps, will make them give it another go. But they have turned into a very dull couple. Have we ever seen them in their own home? Is Izzy facing challenges as a disabled mother? We don't know much about them as a couple so I'm not all that interested. If they did get back together quickly, at least there would be fewer affairs on the rebound. But that's not going to happen, Ayla's already being lined up.
ReplyDeleteI won't call Izzy a good actress, she always has this dreary tone and uninterested look all the time. Both characters were never suited or had much chemistry. Gary on the other hand is fine, but their split is no loss to the show.
ReplyDeleteBut don't fret, when the writers run out of ideas they will reunite.
Personally, I'd write Izzy out and see if Gary can make a go of it with Alya.
ReplyDeleteGary's a good character, yes,
Izzy, no.
Gary is great, but Izzy is just a downer, sorry.
ReplyDeleteAgree with above. Gary is a good character and has plenty further to go. Izzy is just a dull wet blanket. She soon put the dampners on Gary's drink with his pals when she turned up uninvited to the Rovers.
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember Izzy was quite a chirpy character when she joined the Street, but difficult to see how they can reintroduce that character. Gary is an excellent character as his heart's always in the right place, but he so often does the wrong thing - makes for good stories.
ReplyDeleteIzzy was a great spark and totally interesting when she first came to the Street. I blame the writers here, not the actress, who is wonderful in my books. Let's just get her back to her original character!
ReplyDeleteBev
Totally with on this one these two are one of my faves
ReplyDeleteI agree Bev. When Izzy first arrived on the Street she asserted her independence, rejected Owen's help, and Gary was attracted by her fighting spirit. She wasn't girly in typical ways, which also seemed exciting. It was a weirdly compelling match. Is it possible the writers are trying to get back to the origin of the character, but can't think how to do it except to make her single so she has to fight again?
ReplyDeleteIs it that the scriptwriters want to split them up while Anna and Owen get beck together. Their split so far, and Alya speaking to Izzy in the street are quite unbelievable to me. I guess they will reunite which is the point of the story. With lots more angst in between.
ReplyDeleteIMO this couple has had their day. It's just too bad the writer's had seen fit to bring a child into the mix. Now what?
