Coronation Street's Kylie Platt is to become embroiled in a drugs storyline, says the Daily Star.
When little Max is diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), he's given pills from the doctor to control his behaviour. But then Kylie will be seen taking the pills herself.
Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn told the Daily Star newspaper: ''Over the weeks we see a real change in Max's behaviour and what we are going to learn is that he is suffering from ADHD. We have done a lot of research on this and it is going to take us to a point where Max is going to be put on medication.
Kylie hits a really low point. She is drained and in that moment of madness she takes Max's medication. She is utterly ashamed and husband David is disgusted when he finds out. This is, out of all the bad decisions Kylie has made, the worst one ever. It is going to have a devastating effect on her, her health and those around her, and it is going to bring real trouble to the Platt household.''

No doubt the ADHD storyline will disappear after a while, like David's epilepsy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Max about 8-10 years old? ADHD usually makes itself known much earlier, usually 3-4 years of age. Doesn't sound like they researched it that well...
ReplyDeleteC in Canada.
Of course it will - maladies come and go at will - like Audrey's high blood pressure.
ReplyDeleteAnd let's not forget about Audrey's dry rot. Whatever happened to Audrey's dry rot?
ReplyDeleteThis is a big hoop-t-doo in the US, where apparently more soccer moms than not dip into their kids' meds to make it through the day. Note the conveniently placed soccer ball in this photo and see where the storyline hearkens from.
