Amanda Barrie, who played Coronation Street's fab Alma. is getting married to her partner after almost a decade together. The story's in The Sun today.
The Sun reports that Amanda and her partner writer Hilary Bonner, 65, have announced their engagement and joked they risked "cutting it a bit fine" if they waited any longer to tie the knot.
Amanda says: "As our combined ages will be 144 at the time of this cosmic event, we felt we might be cutting it a bit fine if we left it much longer. In any case, our dog was feeling insecure."
They plan to have their big day at the Theatre Royal in London.
Amanda will be back on TV, reunited with former Corrie co-star Sherrie Hewson in ITV sitcom Benidorm next year.

That's really sweet. Didn't realise Amanda was that age.
ReplyDeleteWishing them a long and happy life together.
Just loved Alma, Gail and Phyllis in the cafe. They were fabulous together. When you see what they've done to Gail since it's ludicrous really! (Do current writers watch the past for continuity? !) I really miss Amanda Barrie, she was great on the street. Wishing her every happiness.
ReplyDeleteI too loved Alma and I believe Mike Baldwin did too. Very happy for her and her partner.
