Is it me or is Faye rather pointless? She just doesnt seem to gel or look comfortable with the Windarms and is forever being 'sent upstairs' to wash her hands, do her homework have a bath etc., surprised that stair carpet isnt threadbare.
ReplyDeleteFaye is brilliant. She's an excellent actress and a great little character.
ReplyDeleteSee Ann is suddenly constantly turning up in the Street this time to bring Rita flowers, but couldnt show her face at all to be there for her daughter. Bonkers
ReplyDeleteOther than the actress looking a bit older than the character, Faye is the only believable member of the Wind Arm clan right now, IMHO. Would that the rest of them left and she lived with Sally and Tim. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteNot that I want Corrie over-run with youngsters but Faye's character would improve if she had a best friend. Faye has got past her problems and would now be socialising quite normally. A friend would give her the chance to show viewers what she's worried about, hopes for etc. Sarah Lou had Candice and they were about the same age as Faye at the beginning of their friendship.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like Faye in the beginning, (really who could?) but I quite like her now. She's very believable as a young teen. I do wish they'd quit sending her upstairs and give her a decent story line. Humpty, you're right, a best friend for Faye could be interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey need to showcase some normality for these young actors rather than every day be filled with such trauma. Poor Simon has had such a hard go and Faye is really the only level headed one in this whole Phelan debacle. Showing the ups and downs at school and friends is what makes Corrie real. That seems to be suffering at the moment.
I'd love to see Faye take up an instrument or something. It could be a little comic relief that the Windass clan could use about now.
The only little friend Simon seems to have had was little Joshua Peacock...he was a lovely little boy....and then of course there is the missing Alahan kids. Where did they go? They must have been sent upstairs too! I hope they do not return college age like they do on American soaps.
ReplyDeleteWell, how funny, I completely forgot about Dev's kids. They really could utilize these young actors more. Shouldn't they all be playing together? They live doors apart. It could be fun to have a bunch of Corrie kids with a good story line. A little mystery club, or a neighborhood band or something to get them all out of the Dickensian mode. Poor things have had such terrible struggles. They need more fun on the street and so do we.
