Coronation Street fan Debbie Lee became the 100,000th visitor to collect her backstage pass and walk out onto the hallowed cobbles of the nation’s Street at Coronation Street The Tour.
Debbie and her daughter Danielle Payne stepped into Nick’s Bistro for the grand reveal onto Coronation Street. As the theme tune played they opened the double doors to the cheers of team members brandishing a large congratulatory banner saying “Congratulations! 100,000th Visitor.” General Manager, Andy Begg, presented Debbie and Danielle with a bottle of bubbly and goody bags filled with souvenirs, including a photo of him/her pulling a pint behind the bar of the Rovers Return as a reminder of the experience.
Debbie Lee from Derby said:
“I thought that when we opened the doors that this was something someone did on every tour, but then when everyone was outside we didn’t know what was happening. It was a big surprise, it’s amazing to be the 100,000th visitor.”
