Coronation Street spoiler: Andrea's secret finally revealed

We've long thought there wasn't something quite right about Andrea Beckett on Coronation Street.  And today The Star reveals that she's leading a double life - she IS married.

The Star says that viewers will be stunned to discover that Andrea has been married to her husband Neil for 20 years. The truth comes out next month when Neil storms into the Rovers to confront his wife’s lover.

Lloyd is heartbroken to learn that Andrea has been juggling both her lives. And Steve is also shocked when the truth comes out.

Ah, poor Lloyd, eh?

  1. Yawn, really? And of course it would be Steve who is mistaken. I wonder if this husband will be abusive like Lloyd's previous ex's partner, thus Lloyd becomes her Knight in shining armour.

  2. What a boring and predictable "secret". I thought it was going to be something about a botched nose transplant.

  3. Does anyone actually care? She could have 10 husbands, a pointless addition to the cast. Lloyd needs to be expanded more than just being unlucky in love all the time, its becoming tiresome. Hope Andrea will be written out very soon.

  4. Unsurprising. You could have seen that coming a mile away so it wasn't very inspired. But yet, if it had been something really different, we'd have been complaining about how unlikely and far fetched it was. Can't please everyone.

  6. There wasn't much else that could put Lloyd off so not exactly a surprise. The Andrea business has been a complete waste of time and opportunity. Just settle Lloyd with someone and give him other storylines. CC is very talented and he's not being used.

  7. There are too many personalities, with too little character, to care about on the street these days.
Andrea started off on a positive note, now we're to be subjected to more of the same, and frankly, on the surface, it sounds like it's going to be pretty tiresome.

  8. Well, Lloyd isn't really that much of a catch anyway..a lot of baggage there. I guess the writers had no idea what to do with Andrea's character so it's a quick, really stupid idea and I guess she's outta there. Lloyd is alone once again. I am not looking forward to listening to him whine and carry on about how lonesome he is etc. I guess it's time Lloyd went on another extended vacation.

  9. I don't think any of us guessed this one it seemed too easy!

  10. I'm not looking foreward to both Jenna and Eileen being all smug with their I told you so's to Lloyd and never letting him forget it.Perhaps he could be paired with another lonelyheart Maria?

  11. It really makes me wonder what the point was of bringing in the character in the first place.

  12. what's wrong with easy. It's actually believable! Who would have really thought, after all, she never let on. I bet lots of women do that kind of crap in the 'real life' world. Therefore, why not deal with it in our favorite soap.
    At least it's not EXPLOSIVE

  13. Yes. Stunned. Whatever.
The only thing 'stunning' about this is how boringly obvious it is. What a waste of a storyline.
Humpty is right, Craig is a brill actor and Lloyd could be such an amazing character if they finally settled him down with a decent partner and gave the pair a decent storyline!!!

We're hardly likely to be stunned about this one, especially since we know it long before it shows itself on the TV.

Boring twist, pointless character. Where are they going to go with this now? Lloyd is going to fight for her? Why? She's been there 10 minutes and has been deceitful the entire time. There's no saving her now.

  15. I'm starting to wonder what the writers get paid for because it's certainly not creativity.
I really hope Lloyd doesn't leave because I love him and Steve but I wish they'd stop pairing him with awful women. Just about every girlfriend he's had has been dreadful in one way or another. Why can't they just put him with someone nice and let the character develop!

  16. Glad to see Corrie is doing another public service by bringing to the fore a common yet silent problems. Millions of married women go off to places where they are not known and reinvent themselves as single women with a whole new identity, all the while living double lives. The emotional costs are devastating yet we shy away from tackling this problem. Bravo to Corrie for having the courage to tackle this issue with its usual research and sensitivity.

  17. Please be patient. More revelations are to come. Andrea is married but it is a sexless, loveless marriage of convenience to a rich and powerful older man. She really loves Lloyd but could not tell him the situation because of the damage it may do to her husband if the truth came out. That is all I can say for now.

  21. I remember that Rebecca...

Andrea doesn't love Lloyd, all she ever wanted was Steve, and now he'll drop, like a ripe plum, into her waiting lap...

The problem with this whole storyline is that NOBODY CARES. She is not a long term character, just popped up as Steve's college friend and has never gelled and is not particularly likeable, just grins in that stupid way all the time and makes snide comments to Jenna. If she disappeared nobody would notice or bother.

  24. Don't know about the Steve-Andrea angle, at the end of an article I read about the Andrea spoiler, it said that Steve rants to Michelle about Andrea lying all along - seems to me that Michelle and Steve get back together soon after she walks out on him!
