Coronation Street Blog's best bits of 2013

As we head towards the end of this year, it's time to take stock and blow our own trumpet with our achievements from the Coronation Street Blog during 2013. 

January 2013

• Our blog team is invited by ITV to a VIP tour of the Coronation Street set.
• Our blogger Kathryn reported from ITV's press launch for Tyrone and Kirsty's wedding 
• The Daily Mirror use one of our original blog posts and give us a credit and link, after I point out they've used our work word-for-word.
• We attend Corrie fan event Corriefest in Manchester
• We join and help promote the Free Tyrone campaign online
• We support Corrie's carbon monoxide poisoning storyline by offering free carbon monoxide detectors to fans

February 2013

•  We're featured in the Daily Express magazine talking about Becky McDonald
• Exclusive interview with Rapid Fire Cover, the people who set the Rovers Return on fire.
  

March 2013

•  We're given first exclusive pictures of the Coronation Street sponsor meerkats

 April 2013

• We're given the first official pictures of Corrie's new set at Media City, exclusively by ITV.
• We're given the first exclusive pictures of Amanda Barrie in pantomime

May 2013

• Our Top 5 Rovers Return moments are included on the official Coronation Street website at itv.com/corrie 
  
• Our blogger Graeme (pictured above in the Rovers) went on a very special visit to ITV to interview some of the cast  - read part 1 and part 2
• Our blogger Llifon's polls to find Corrie fans' favourite accessory makes news in the local press, and in The Star
• We're given the fist pictures of the new Rovers Return after the fire 
• ITV ask for our help to find Coronation Street finds for a screening of Surprise Surprise 
• We donate to charity in exchange for a VIP interview with DJ and radio presenter Jonny Mac 

July 2013

•  Exclusive interview with Edna Walker, the original Coronation Street wardrobe lady
• Our blogger Stevie's dog featured on ITV's This Morning as a Corrie look-a-like

August 2013

• We donate to charity in exchange for interview with Ian Kershaw - TV writer and husband of Corrie's Julie Hesmondhalgh.
• Exclusive interview with the stunt men behind the Coronation Street van crash, Rapid Fire Cover.

September 2013

• Our blogger Scott meets and interviews Corrie's Liz McDonald, actor Beverley Callard

October 2013

• We interview Coronation Street Story Associate Furquan Akhtar

November 2013

• We attend the launch of the brand new Coronation Street set

We remain the only Coronation Street fan site to offer exclusive news, reviews and competitions and are very proud indeed of all we achieve. We also now run the fan website www.corrie.net

It's a team effort and with a great team of Corrie fans and writers, we have been able to produce some of the best quality, funniest, most incisive comment on Coronation Street anywhere in the world - online, offline, in print and in press.
