Something has either been lost in translation as Britney Spears arrived in London tonight, or Coronation Street has its newest celebrity fan:
Thankfully, all was made clear by Corrie star Charlie Condou on Twitter, who later posted: "she probably meant the Cory Monteith Glee special :-( "
If that's the case, Ms Spears should give Corrie a try anyway, especially after tonight's fantastic hour long special, don't you agree? The incident certainly got Twitter talking...

I suspect she was talking about Corrie.
ReplyDeleteBut i don't think she made the tweet. I think it was tweeted by someone in her management team.
I think it's a marketing trick.
Arrive in a new country...Find out what the most popular TV programme is in that country...and then make a tweet about just missing it.
It instantly creates attention, and gets the "celebrity" some brownie points..."She must be nice, she watches our favourite programme".
Yet by saying she missed it, she avoids any questions from interviewers asking her about what she watched.
Just a marketing stunt in an attempt to endear herself to the British public I think.
She was talking about Corrie!
ReplyDeleteHer publicist confirmed it to Digital Spy. Here is the article http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/s3/coronation-street/news/a523409/britney-spears-misses-coronation-street-special-im-so-upset.html
Britney Spears, yeah, as if I'd really want her among my fanbase.
ReplyDeleteI suspected she might have been going on Alan Carr and her management team might have sent it. Very funny anyway, and a great plug for Corrie :)
ReplyDeleteIn the US, Corrie is available online via Hulu and people are starting to watch it. If she can bring in more fans to give it traction, I'm good with that.
