Preview of tonight's double Coronation Street - Friday 9 August

FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST at 7.30pm

NICK’S IN A COMA AS THE PRESSURE BUILDS ON DAVID. Gail and Leanne keep a vigil at Nick’s bedside, he’s had brain surgery and is an induced coma. As they try to get an insight into what caused the crash David claims he can’t remember, guilty and fearful that his actions might be revealed. Alone with Nick, David begs him to wake up, apologising for what he’s done. Will anyone overhear his confession?
LLOYD’S MOOD WITH MANDY GOES FROM BAD TO WORSE. Noting how down both Lloyd and Eileen are after their recent rows Steve suggests they all go to the pub like old times. But the mood darkens when Mandy joins them and her and Lloyd start bickering about their respective parenting skills.
TINA’S BACKED INTO A CORNER. With Nick in hospital, Gloria suggests to Izzy that they have baby Jake’s homecoming drinks at the Rovers. Tina insists she’s fine with it but is she as tough as she makes out?
ELSEWHERE Tracy manipulates both Rob and Steve as she suggests Steve spend more time with Amy so she can spend more time with Rob! Norris regrets employing a reluctant Craig as paperboy.

FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST at 8.30pm

DAVID’S WRACKED WITH GUILT AS NICK STILL FIGHTS DEATH. David’s guilt worsens as the doctor reveals that Nick has swelling on the brain and it doesn’t look good. As the police arrive to question David he braces himself to lie. But as they probe for answers will David be able to keep up his act or will it all prove too much?
IS IT THE END OF THE ROAD FOR LLOYD AND MANDY? Mandy and Lloyd are exhausted by fighting to keep their relationship alive. But when Mandy says they need to be honest and realise they’re different people now to the two that fell for each other all those years ago, will Lloyd agree to give up the fight?
TINA BRACES HERSELF FOR JAKE’S PARTY. Tina’s dreading Jake’s party but is determined not to look like an emotional wreck at work and insists on covering her shift despite Tommy and Rita’s concerns.
ELSEWHERE Norris sacks Craig when the newspapers he were meant to deliver are found dumped. Beth’s concerned as she’s noted Craig’s behaviour deteriorating over the last few months. Tracy sets her sights on the bookie’s flat but how will she drive Peter and Carla out?

  1. Mandy is supposedly the 'love of his life', yet, she is slipping away and all he can do is suck on a pint and moan to Steve. When Cheryl left, he tore up the apartment, had a mental breakdown and left the street. She was another 'love of his life.' The pairing of Mandy and Lloyd was just not on. She is not the type of woman Lloyd would have gone for, even if they were close at one time. Glad she's going.
Tina can bog off too. There's nothing there for her anymore seeing as how the actor is leaving. I hope they keep Tommy though. Maybe pair him up with the lovely Katy.

  2. I like the idea of Tommy and Katy, though she'd probably do well to get to know baby Joseph first before getting into another relationship.
