Sneak preview of tonight's double Corrie - Monday 8 July

Coronation street, Monday 8th July at 7.30pm

DAVID TARGETS THE BISTRO AND LEANNE. As David urges Leanne to stick to her guns, insisting student night is a great idea, she presses ahead with her plans. Nick’s sceptical, especially when she invites a local reporter along, but as the bar starts filling up he buries his concern. The night appears to be a success but moving outside David delivers his coup de grace and phones the police. What is he up to?
RYAN’S SECRET SPARKS A ROW BETWEEN CHESNEY & KATY. When Sinead asks Chesney if he and Katy have unfinished business he denies it. But when Kirk and Beth admit to seeing Ryan with another woman it’s clear he’s worried for Katy. Will he be the one to tell Katy about Ryan’s other woman?
TIM CAN’T LEAVE TOWN FAST ENOUGH FOR ANNA. Faye’s spent her first night back at no.6 and is happy to be home. Tim is putting on a brave face but when he tells Jason about Owen’s threat and how he must leave town Jason tells him not to give up on Faye so easily. Will Tim agree to move on?
ELSEWHERE Eileen prepares for her first day at counselling determined to save her relationship with Paul. Carla and Michelle head out to celebrate as business at Underworld is booming.

Monday 8th July at 8.30pm

DAVID TRIES TO DERAIL NICK AND LEANNE. Nick’s horrified as the police search the Bistro for drugs. No evidence of drug use is found but the damage has been done as the reporter has her story. With David subtly winding him up Nick tells a hurt Leanne she can’t take risks with his business again. As David watches will the rowing couple rise to the bait?
KATY MAKES A WORRYING DISCOVERY ABOUT RYAN. Katy’s shocked to hear Ryan was spotted with another woman and heads home to confront him. After reading his texts she demands to know who she is. On the defensive will Ryan be able to explain himself?
TIM GETS USED TO LIFE WITHOUT FAYE. As Tim calls round to Anna’s with a box of Faye’s things a sense of sadness hangs in the air. In the pub he confides in Sally, he’s leaving town and it’s for the best. But does Tim really believe this?
ELSEWHERE Eileen’s upbeat following her counselling session but Paul forgets to ask having had a bad day dealing with hoax calls from a group of kids. Peter bites his tongue as Carla flashes the cash, clearly struggling with Carla being the breadwinner.

  1. Business at Underworld is booming? Well, that's a quick change from a short while ago when it was moments from going under. Who knew that knickers stitched in a back street were so lucrative in this economy?!

It all happens at the Bistro - wasnt too long ago a similar story was done with Eva when she had an axe to grind with Nick with it getting in the newspapers. And how come they are suddenly doing student nights to drum up business? They were run off their feet not so long ago? Like the faktray the fortunes dip and rise according to the story in hand

  5. I always love those plots where they worry about the future of their business. Will they heck, we have had drug raids and problems at the Rovers but its still running. Just a plot device so Nick has a go at Leanne and we have David smirking in the background like the panto villain he is. A week later the whole business with the drug raid will be forgotten.

Katy, Ryan and Chesney, just YAWN. I do not care for these three characters, Chesney always miserable, and I don't care about Katy and Ryan's "relationship". They are not like a proper couple, they never do anything together. So why should we care if they separate? And get Sinead away from Chesney, this character can do better than being Chesney's doormat.

The only advantage is the lack of Stella, who has been missing a couple of weeks now.

  6. Why do so many people complain about this series? If you don't like it DON'T WATCH IT!! Simple!

  7. Get real, Anon. Try telling a football supporter to stop moaning about their club and go and support another one. Passion doesn't work like that.

  8. Anon 16.08. Same reason people gossip, follow celebrity troubles, stare at car accidents, watch movies that are so bad they are entertaining. There is more than one way humans enjoy something. Look up the word schadenfreude.

  9. I have to admit that I like when David is stirring the pot. He does evil so much better than Tracy Barlow ever will! There's a lot more going on in his head and I like to watch him tick.

  19. Anon. 16:08, some of us have watched Corrie for so long, it's like family. I'm sure there are members of your family that you don't approve of, but you don't stop caring about them. So, let us vent and complain, we're just stating an opinion.

  20. Hadn't heard of all the Weatherfield students before.

On another note, with so much form behind him how long before someone puts two and two together about David? Every time something goes wrong for Nick and Leanne there he is smirking, stirring things up.
