Is Les Battersby returning to Coronation Street?

This could be nothing, so I'm not going to say anything other than in the Channel 4 news report at 7pm last night on Bill Roache, there was a clip and a sound bite from former (sacked) Coronation Street actor Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby.

The news crew tried to interview him but he was whisked away.  And where was the news crew as they tried to interview him? Only outside ITV studios in Manchester.

Have a look here - blink and you'll miss him just after the 1.05 mark.  It's the news story about Bill Roache marked "Corrie actor arrested on rape charges"

I wondered why he was there as well. I doubt if he would come back and lets be truthful who would really want him back now? Perhaps a publicity stunt by his agent says cynical old Frosty.

  2. Now then. Who better to parachute in and rescue Leanne from whatever dastardly plot Karl has in store for her? Les would see him off, having spent the last (*cough*) years acting as roadie and impromptu bouncer for the Quo. They've paid for his martial arts training and Mirikl-Musl protein supplements.

I agree with Digger. And I do hope Les takes the opportunity to wipe the floor with Stella rather than falling for her charms once again.

  4. If Bruce Jones was coming back, I'm sure we would have read about it before now. This sort of thing is usually trumpeted well in advance. Although I guess he could be 'in discussions' - as was Kevin Kennedy recently. Let's have him back for a brief appearance, re-ignite his love for Stella, and whisk her away to start a new life on the road as wardrobe mistress for the Quo. She could dress them all in beige:)

  5. It looks like the studios were caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the press. I think we know one of the stories pushing St Ella to the forefront now.

  6. I don't think he was at granada studios, it was just edited together but only kym marsh was arriving for work. Bruce Jones is currently appearing in a one man play about depression so they could have just been outside the theatre.

  7. He's not returning. He was at the hotel opposite granada.

  8. I sincerely hope he isn't coming back - can't stand the character or the actor.

  9. He would make the Batterby/Price clan even more unbearable.

  10. He probably hangs around outside the gates on the off chance someone might let him in to use the canteen.
