When you see this scene of Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street running along a train platform next week, spare a thought for the actress who plays her, Sue Cleaver.While filming the scenes of Eileen rushing along the train platform trying to stop fireman Paul from leaving, Sue did herself a mischief.
Speaking to TV Choice, (by way of Digital Spy) Sue said: "It's like Brief Encounter because Paul's on a train and Eileen's chasing up the platform.
"Unfortunately, I got a bit enthusiastic during filming, tore my Achilles tendon and have been in plaster for a few weeks. It's only just come off."
Ah, so that explains this picture of Sue Cleaver using a crutch and hanging on to cast member John Michie, who plays Karl Munro, last month.

Is John Michie really that tiny or is Eileen a woman mountain?
ReplyDeleteMost of them are not that tall. Sue Cleaver is about 5'7 or 8, about my height as i recall when i met her about 10 years ago. Most of the cast really aren't that tall, the men just look tall because the women are so tiny. We spied Sue Nicholls at a distance and she couldn't have been more than about 5'2 or 3 and very petite. I can only imagine how small Helen Worth is!

ReplyDeleteI thought Sue N was tall too...that must mean that Helene M is very tiny. I think that Sue C is an averaged size woman but the rest of the females on this show are little bitty things. Peter used to look average to me but he's lost so much weight he looks emaciated...to me anyway.
ReplyDeleteSue Cleaver is indeed an average, proper sized woman and the rest of the cast are TINY in real life. I mean DOLL sized.

ReplyDeleteAccording to internet sources Sue Cleaver is 5' 9", Sue Nicholls 5' 8" and Helen Worth is 5' 5". Samia Ghadie at 5" 1' is petite.

I stood next to Helen worth a few years back in a shopping queue and she was a good few inches shorter than me and Im 5ft 4.
