Faye accuses Anna of child abuse

In next week's Coronation Street, little Faye will accuse Anna of assaulting her - so that she can move out of Anna's house and in with dad Tim.

Debbie Rush, who plays Anna, says Anna will be absolutely distraught when she hears that Faye wants to leave her to live with Tim in his new flat above the corner shop.

And then Anna gets a knock on the door from social services who tell her that Faye’s accused her of assault.

Debbie Rush says this about Anna: "She's absolutely devastated, I’ve not stopped crying since we’ve been filming it, the scenes are really heartbreaking.

I’ve really enjoyed it, it’s been great to get our teeth into but it has been heartbreaking to film. Once you start crying you can’t stop, it’s draining but we’ve loved it."

  1. Hope when he leaves the street he takes that nasty little brat with him.

  2. Don't forget that she has been smacked by Owen who also smashed her laptop, so there is abuse going on in that household

  3. Think it is time for Miss Faye to stay with her real dad Tim and see that life on the other side of the fence isn't always better. She will miss Anna and all she has done for her, but I think she will not realise this until it's too late and Anna will not want her back.

  4. Faye moving in with Tim may be the lead-in to discovering more about his back story. After the honeymoon period, Tim will become just another adult telling her what to do. Will Tim be able to cope with her moods?

  5. Anna and Faye are the same size. Isn't Faye supposed to be 10 years old? As for Tim, we never did find out why Faye's real mom wouldn't let him have anything to do with his kid...maybe she isn't his after all?

  6. Hope she moves in with Tim and they both leave the street. I have never liked that child and could never, ever understand why Anna felt the need to adopt another child just because her son grew up. When my son left home at 18 to go to school I certainly had no desire to raise another child.

  7. I agree when mine left home never wanted to get another one .faye has been a brat and trouble since she moved into that house .that was the cause of all the problems with anna and eddie .wish eddie would come back I really liked him .let tim take faye and move away that would be best I think . buttercup Canada

  8. I was taller than my mom by the time I was 10, and my dad a few years later. Since Faye's not Anna's biological kid and Anna isn't tall, Faye's height should be no biggie. Their lack of a family relationship is. If Anna had half the connection with (properly) troubled Faye that she does with Tina, this might be interesting. Right now, snooze.

  9. Please let this herald the departure of the obnoxious Faye and her lack lustre father.

Totally agree with Anon at 12:42.

I detest Faye and I'm not keen on the child playing her either, she just isn't a very good actress.

Anna has been ruined since this adoption storyline, she's not nearly as good a character as she used to be.

  11. Children making false accusations of abuse. How low is this programme going to go in its pursuit of ratings?

  12. Actually I'm glad they're doing this. My family and I went through something similar during my childhood (I wasn't the one making the false accusations btw!) and it will be interesting to see how it's done.

  13. The writers are going to rush this accusation of abuse through quickly to its end just because of what's going on at the moment with one of the cast members...IMO.

  14. It sounds like Faye is going to admit she lied almost immediately...so at least it won't drag on and on...

  15. Faye is so unsympathetic that this latest storyline just makes me roll my eyes. And I agree that this whole adoption story has made Anna and to some extent Owen kind of boring. And with Gary and Izzie getting minimal airtime, and Faye's father not making much of an impression (even though he's kind of hot)it seems the Windass and Armstrong families are are becoming less interesting to watch than the Price family, and that's saying something!

Wow, she turned out to be totally worth all the trouble, didn't she?

  17. Can hear the boring lines from tim and Faye - "But Anna use to let me do this" and Tim rolls the eyes and then snaps with " Well if you liked Anna doing it so much for you go back to her" after madam tries to get her own way once too often - can we have a pass on this next phase please. Glad I'm not Anna talk about take everything you offer then throw back in your face..

  18. They've really mishandled Faye's character. We have a national shortage of foster carers and adopters and yet Corrie has these ridiculous storylines going on. These things just don't happen that often in real life - most abuse allegations are real and most adoptions are permanent. When there is so little about adoption and fostering on television, it should reflect reality a little more when it's on soaps.

Also the fact that people are saying they "hate" a child who has been abused, lost her mother at an early age and is clearly so desperate for love that she had no problems adjusting to an entirely new family says a lot, not just about British attitudes towards children, but also about how badly Corrie has handled all this.
