Coronation Street Travel are offering a tour to the Street set taking in all kinds of other great UK stuff, all for $2895 CAD per person, twin accommodation.
Join in London on April 11th, tour ends in Manchester on April 20th. Escorted again by popular Neville MacKay.
Price includes most meals, superior hotel accommodation, luxury coach travel, sightseeing in all cities visited, Beatles sights in Liverpool including the Beatles Story, a Welsh Banquet in Cardiff Castle, and of course Mark Llewellyn's brilliant tour of locations in and around Manchester used in Corrie episodes, and the spectacular private visit to Granada/ITV Studios where we are able to watch actual filming and meet many of the stars. The group in October were totally "gobsmacked".
We spend 3 days in London, then Hampton Court Palace and Ornamental Gardens, Stonehenge, Cardiff Wales, Chester, Liverpool and then on to Manchester for 3 nights.

Now then, before UK fans start jumping up and down saying we never get the chance to do things like that. Well, while it's true that the Street set is closed to the public, there are things you can do in Manchester like coach Corrie locations tours, walking tours, taxi tours - there's a whole list of Corrie-related things to do here.

Something I would love, but too rich for me, lol
ReplyDeleteWell I might not be jumping up and down in the literal sense but I would like to know how this can happen that they not only get to see the actual street location but also manage to get to watch some filming AND get to meet members of the cast then those who DO live here are told there's other stuff you can do. I'd like to know how does this happen for them but can't happen here, even for a cost? Seems unfair to me but hey ho.
ReplyDeleteDon't know why ITV don't rebuild the set in Toronto and make the programme there. They obviously don't give a damn for UK viewers.
ReplyDeleteToo steep a price tag for me! I'll just enjoy the Street from my couch. :-)
ReplyDelete~JB in Canada
The price doesn't include flight - land only. I'm sure if there were fans in the UK who wanted to do the 10 day tour they could do so.
ReplyDeleteOMG!Eeeeeeeee! I thought that the only tour company that had a contract to do the set tour was Kemptville Travel (Toronto) with their "World of Coronation Street Tour". I've always wanted to do it but they go in Sept and that is such a busy month at work for me that I can't entertain it. I had no idea there were OTHER Cnd travel companies out there offering it! And it's way better that they don't make your buy their airfare -- can use airmiles. Hurray!!!! (Sorry non-Canadians :( it does seem super unfair )
