Hot on the heels of winning Best Soap last week at the National Television Awards, Coronation Street has scooped another award for Best Soap.  They were named as Best Soap, beating all of the other UK soaps, in the Broadcast Awards 2013 held last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in that London.

The Broadcast Awards are chosen by a panel of judges to reward excellence in TV.

Congratulations to Corrie!

A full list of winners is here.

Looks like Jenna is enjoying herself with that fixed manical grin.

  2. Looks to me like one of the most natural, enthusiastic smiles I've seen in a long time.

Anyway, Morning Frosty! Glad to see you've had your Cornflakes already. Milk sour again?

  3. Jesus, you people are so cynical. So someone can't even smile now without being bitched about? What happened to just being happy for people?

  5. Thank you Liam and Flaming Nora, for saying what needs to be said. More related to the topic of the post, I am happy that Corrie is winning awards -- just bummed that it is happening under the leadership of Phil Collinson. He did some things right, but not happy about the personality transplants (Sunita/Karl) and the revionist history (Betty's will)

  6. I think Krissi looks great in all her photos - I hope she had a great night! It's all very easy to sit in front of a computer and make unpleasant remarks about someone - easy but unpleasant, unfair and not what this blog is about.

  7. Well said Graeme and others! I like seeing the cast out of character and enjoying themselves, and when it's for getting an award that's even better, something to smile about :-)

  8. Can I just mention Cath's impressively double-jointed thumb? Hasten to add that I'm speaking here as someone who can make an entire pub table go "Eeeeewwww!" with my own double-jointedness

  9. At least it wasn't Brooke Vincent. Then Frosty would have really kicked off.

  10. Remembering the interviews with Krissi when she first appeared on the program, where she said she'd almost given up on a career in acting, I think these pictures indicate her delight at now being in this situation.
