Oh. Carla's back then. Unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteDilly you took the words out of my mouth - Carla is obviously back then from the marvellous LA - wHAT a surprise! These dramatic departures are becoming quite farcial now. Arguing with Rob with Michelle rolling her eyes in the background to look forward to then. Humbug.
ReplyDeleteCarla needs to leave. Why would she suddenly be determined to leave Weatherfield after everything that has happened with her in the past six years, just to return back full time. It just makes the whole scenario pointless now.
ReplyDeleteAnd for the love of god will Lewis JUST LEAVE! Stop dragging this out, his stupid little smirks every-time the gullible Gail falls for him is getting boring, and that is quite a turnaround for Gail considering the way he treated Audrey in the end and split from her. Nigel should never of been brought back, he was better back in his storyline in 2010, but it should of been left at that.
Carla has so many fans but I just don't see it at the moment. I wonder if it's a generation divide. Are many of her fans under 40? I'm in my 60's and, to begin with, found her interesting and infuriating in equal meansure. Now, I see her as immature, selfish, uncaring and pointless. In real life, I would avoid such a person and on TV it's literally a turn-off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update..now I don't have to waste my time watching this nonsense over the holidays.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Anonymous. My sentiments exactly.
ReplyDeleteHumpty, I think you're on to something. I'm 51, and not a fan of Carla any more. She's pretty, has money and nice clothes, and gets some cracking lines, but she's cartoonish and behaves in a way no business owner or late 30s intelligent woman would. There's nowhere plausible to go with her, so whatever the writers come up with won't sit well.
ReplyDeleteObvious Carla would have to come back - just how was she going to set up a panty-sewing business in California - doesn't she know they are all made in China - perhaps she should have gone there instead. Total waste of filming, on the cobbles 5 minutes, then back to California, 5 minutes later back on the cobbles.
ReplyDeleteI'm under 40, and not a fan of Carla.. or of this version of her. I like her single and sassy, not when she's chasing after/moaning over some man! She really doesn't fit in on the street now..
