Pics: Michelle Keegan poses as Cheryl Cole

Michelle Keegan, who plays Coronation Street's Tina McIntyre, has done a photoshoot for Heat magazine, posing as Cheryl Cole.

There are pictures in The Sun today if that's the sort of thing you like.

Ho-hum. I wish young women would find a role model who hadn't been convicted of assault, as Cheryl Cole was.

  2. I'm afraid I agree with Flaming Nora. Why does she have to dress up as someone like Cheryl Cole - Can't she just be herself? All a bit naff if you ask me.

  3. I do believe that Michelle is far prettier then Cheryl

  4. Cheryl Cole was found guilty of assault. If you follow the link, you can read the full story.

  5. It was a long time ago and not worth dragging up every time her name is mentioned. The photos are just a bit of fun (although it's not a good look for Michelle Keegan).

  6. I wish young women would find a role model who didn't get their kit off at every available opportunity.

  7. Rachel, I couldn't agree more. Michelle is a professional actress, it gives the wrong message.

  8. I normally agree with most everything you say Nora, but I feel you're way, way, off target here.

You're distaste for Cheryl as a role model would be much more appropriate for say a Naomi Campbell, a notorious repeat offender. However in Cheryl's case, just one conviction when she was 20, is hardly a life-defining characteristic. And that conviction wasn't without caveats either:

The victim lied in her account and was found out to have falsely introduced charges of racism not even mentioned at all, in her first statement, until her media consultant proposed the 'sexing up' of an updated statement containing the fabricated lie.

The victim diminishes her true pain and distress by resorting to lies to make her case, just to increase her compensation payout.

Seeing as Cheryl, later went on to marry a black man, and has dated mostly black men, proves that years later, the racist lie told against her was just that - a lie.

An aggressive loss of temper at age 20 shouldn't be regurgitated as the definitive aspect of someone's personality. There have been no recurring incidents of that, or any of a similar nature. She's learnt and moved on.

Maybe that's one of the things that young girls admire - coming back from potential career destroying adversity by working hard and learning better self control from it, that inspires young girls?

  9. Why would she want to pose as a Cheryl Cole look-alike, a somewhat minimally talented singer among thousands? How does this further her acting credentials, if at all? Seems some people have too much time on their hands.

  10. If she narrowed her shoot to a celebrity with an impeccable moral credentials the list would consist of ZERO.

  11. If Cheryl Cole is supposed to be an "inspiration" or a "role model", then we are truly lost.

Cole is a plastic clothes horse, who drenches herself in makeup and fashion to create what she thinks is her image.

She also cannot sing live, as has been evidenced on many, many occasions.

She is NOT a role model, and Michelle Keegan could have chosen better.

(Sadly, as one of the unfortunate fake-tan-glam-celeb-grazia-heat-premiere-type actors in the show, I'm hardly suprised at her choice.)

  12. For whatever reason, Michelle decided to do this. We can't condemn her. We all have different role models because we all value different things. Maybe Michelle value Cheryl's bad girl to good image. I'm disappointed with the large negativity on this.

  13. Ho hum, why does Michelle not put her efforts and talent into acting rather than sexy photo shoots. Not worth trying to figure out.

  14. It's difficult to find young women in the entertainment business who are good role models. Michelle Keegan is becoming a joke. I would like to see much more made of our dedicated, disciplined sportswomen like Jessica Ennis and Rebecca Adlington.

  15. Cheryl Cole aside I find it totally ridiculous that Michelle Keegan is allowed to play Tina looking like she lives in Barbados and not Weatherfield. Considering she and Tommy are so skint cutting back on the spray tans would be a start. It's not realistic to the soap and if she wants the part then she should play it as so - if she was in the theatre then she would have to. 6234 ngstutelWhen they were saying to her this week "Ey you look peeky love", I nearly choked on my tea! How could they say that and keep a straight face. She looks beyond a joke now!

  16. There is no question that Michelle is a gorgeous gal but for the sake of her talent and career, I do wish her PR folk would come up with something different to "get her out there".

  17. Guess Cheryl cole's one of those 'marmite' characters and it's clear which side I'm on. I don't see the point of her, and therefore don't enjoy the seeing my favourite soap actresses pictured imitating her.

  18. MICHELLE is a Cheryl fan and Cheryl recently tweeted her, Michelle as also said how much she likes Cheryl and Cheryl likes Tina.

And Cheryl made a mistake, - im guessing you like Tina? Remember she pushed Kirsty while pregs? - you all forget about that? And people look up to Tina as a roll modal
