MARCUS STRUGGLES WITH THE TWIST HIS LIFE IS TAKING. Marcus and Maria have spent the night together but in the cold light of day the enormity of what he’s done hits him. He leaves the flat with Maria in pursuit as Sean passes and clocks the pair having a heated debate. Sean later tackles Marcus about the row and Marcus tells him that Aiden wants him to move away but he’s uncertain. Sean tells him he should follow his heart. At the salon Audrey offers the same advice when Maria confesses that she’s slept with Marcus and she’s in love. But when Maria walks into the pub a confused Marcus makes a snap decision and tells Aiden he’ll go with him. A gutted Maria implores Marcus to give them a chance, telling him how much she loves him. How will Marcus react?
GAIL TRIES TO MAKE AMENDS WITH LEWIS Gail notices Lewis moving in to the butchers flat. Her guilt is compounded when he tells her he’s pawned his father’s watch to go towards paying Audrey back. Later when Gail hears Lewis telling Audrey he’s lost the watch she decides to take action.
STELLA SELECTS HER 5-A-SIDE TEAM. Carole arrives from the Flying Horse to announce to Stella that the forthcoming 5-a-side match is between their two pubs. Stella tells Lloyd she’s determined the Rovers is going to win and tells him to drum up the best team possible. Steve arrives and is bemused that Lloyd’s list of team members includes Paul, Rob, Ryan, Gary and Chesney, but not him. Will Stella agree with the selection?
Elsewhere when Kevin tells Kirsty’s he’s snowed under at the garage and could do with some help from Tyrone she gives him short shrift.

MARIA IS GUTTED AS MARCUS PREPARES TO LEAVE. Maria begs Marcus not to go, but he tells her he has to, he’s gay and a relationship with her would never work. Maria’s heartbroken but as Marcus and Aiden prepare to leave for a weekend in London Marcus suddenly realises he can’t go through with it and tells Aiden it’s over. A crushed Aiden asks Marcus if it’s because he still has feelings for Sean. Unable to deal with telling Aiden the truth, Marcus confirms this. Later as Aiden leaves the street he tells a euphoric Sean that Marcus has dumped him because he’s still in love with him. But as Sean debates his next move will Marcus find himself in Maria’s arms.
GAIL IS OBLIVIOUS TO LEWIS’ PLOTTING. Gail presents Lewis with his father’s watch which she’s bought back from the pawnbrokers. After some serious persuasion Lewis finally accepts it. Gail heads home more certain than ever that she’s misjudged Lewis. After she’s gone however Lewis makes a call and arranges a meeting that proves the cogs of his plan to thwart Gail are well and truly in motion.
MANDY HELPS A DOWNHEARTED STEVE. As she takes over as manager of the Rovers football team Stella begins to crack the whip training her men. Steve is down in the dumps and Mandy susses his jealousy of Rob is behind his feelings. She has a go at Lloyd for not helping Steve get selected for the team. Will her words have Lloyd leaping to help his oldest mate?
Elsewhere Fiz worries that Kirsty is keeping Tyrone from his friends.

D'you know what? For a split second there I had to think who Fiz was!! I must be getting old.
ReplyDeleteNot liking the Maria/Marcus thing at all. She's coming across as a bit bitchy and selfish.
I'm not enjoying this particular twist in the Maria and Marcus storyline. As they are meant to be such close friends, I would have rather seen Maria lay it all out on the table and talk to Marcus rather than stirring stuff up with Aiden and Marcus lying about his feelings for Sean. I wish he would have just said he wasn't confident enough in his feelings for Aiden to join him in London, all their rowing as of late, or some such thing.
ReplyDeleteMaria has a moustache...just sayin.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the 5-a-side football game.
ReplyDeleteIf Steve makes it on to the team, what's the betting after making a complete fool of himself, and met with derision by all, the writers take pity on him by a wayward shot from the opposing team which accidentally hits Steve hard in the back of the head, knocking him over semi-conscious, before it ricochets in to score the winning goal for Steve's team.
Steve staggers to his feet and cross-eyed, claims credit for the long-term planning of a never heard of before "Back-header" technique, which he claims he was holding back for the right conditions to deliver it.
- or maybe the wayward shot hits him in the buttocks and slowly rolls over the goal line to which Steve claims credit by way of a special "bum-shot" that he alone has developed.
Is it jus me or is gail going to fall for lewis and he'll use her as part of his plotting
ReplyDeleteMaria hasn't got a moustache - just saying.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I've seen the odd shadow - just sayin'
