Yay or Nay - are you pleased Kirk and Beth have got together?

So, how we do all feel about our Kirkeh and Beth getting together?  Last night on Coronation Street, Kirk turned out to be Beth's knight in shining armour Underworld van after her date with internet Dave went wrong.

After a touching moment on the cobbles when Beth bid Kirk goodnight and he shook her hand, telling her: "Have a good sleep, and dream about nice things," it looks like the next step is a date for the duo.  And as our preview picture shows, they waste no time in getting stuck in.

But what do you reckon about Beth and Kirk getting together? Are you pleased or put out?

Yay or Nay - are you happy about this pairing?  Me - oh Yay!

  1. Definitely YAY! It will be nice for Kirk to have a storyline for a change and for us to see that there's more to him than just general dimness (i.e. he's a nice bloke, caring, supportive, modest, a good friend) and it will give Beth the opportunity to show a softer side. Plus there's plenty of scope for comedy of course!-NN

  2. Yay, yay, yay, yay, yay!

Kirk and Beth are a breath of fresh air. As gripping as Tyrone and Kirsty's story is, a lighter storyline like this was desperately needed. It makes a nice change from the developing surrogacy storyline too. I'm still wondering when and how the surrogacy will conclude.

  3. Next year's winners of The British Soap Awards best duo, I reckon.

  4. YAY! I love both characters and I am tickled pink! Plus this time, Kirk gets to be a sort of dad/big brother to Craig. I loved the relationship he always had with Chesney and now Ches is older, Kirk seems to have been a bit forgotten there.

  5. A definite YAY from me! I like both characters and there's fantastic room to develop both of them. Not to mention there's bound to be some great comedy which has been sorely lacking in Corrie.

  6. YAY! Great pairing and hope we get the promised comedy that Brian and Julie are failing to deliver. Kirk's relationship with Craig should be fun to watch.

  7. Anything to detract from this dire miserable doomed surogacy far fetched nonsense is fine with me!

  8. Absolutely YAY! Agree with HD above, Brian and Julie fizzled, hope this new duo can bring back more comedy. It's been really hit and miss with the comedy duos since Mavis left.

  9. YAY, YAY, YAY AND MORE YAY!! These two will be comedy gold and add Craig to the mix - superb! Was getting tired of Kirk being shown as a complete imbecile, his other great qualities pushed to the background.

  10. Their characters are quirky and well suited and the potential comedy with Craig is mint! I think I just need time to get used to the two of them together, as they physically don't seem like a pair I'd have considered before. I feel like there is an awkward age difference between them, no?

  11. I think these two could be one of the great Corrie pairings !!

  12. Yay! Especially since it is starting off SLOWLY. Friends first. A white knight in a time of need. A crush from the loneliest man in Weatherfield. Ex-girlfriends know what a star Kirk is. Anyone who is that good a friend to that many people has to have something right inside. And Beth, brassy and crazy as she can be, is quite sweet once she lets her guard down.

    Your shirt's wet. Ha ha!!!

  13. I like Kirk...Beth's ok but so gobby but maybe that's a good thing seeing as how Kirk hasn't got too much to say. I hope the writers don't start the 'lets have a baby' crap with these two.

  14. I absolutely love the pairing of these two. I hope the storyliners and writers use them to their full potential. So far, they have mostly used Kirk as an introduction for a new character, like Julie and Izzy, but this one was already there, so it just might work long term if they use their imaginations. Can you say Stan & Hilda? Oh yes!
