Tracy Barlow hits the floor next week and there are fears she's having kidney failure when she suffers an infection. She'd been feeling unwell but everyone thinks she's "crying wolf" so she won't have to leave her digs under Emily's roof where she's taken refuge after Steve sold Number 13 to Kevin Webster.
She is rushed to hospital and Steve is by her side, which gives her the wrong impression, that Steve really does care about her. He's really just trying to keep her spirits up and really should have learned by now about doing things like this. Give Tracy an inch and all that.
She doesn't realize that he has hopes of getting back together with former flame Michelle. And Michelle doesn't realize at first that he's given Tracy false hopes. According to Soaplife, via Digital Spy, Michelle tells him to sort Tracy out but as we know, Steve has a major problem with confrontation and a very weak spine, especially when it comes to Tracy who could remove access to Amy on a whim.
Yet again, Steve is caught between Tracy and another woman and it might be a dangerous place for Michelle to be, considering how Tracy's made life miserable for both of Steve's recent ex-wives, Becky and Karen. Kate Ford says (via What's On TV) that "Tracy's obsession with Steve will last until the end of time - and she has much more trouble to cause before then."

Here we go again.....yet another screaming match between Tracy and Steve's next in line girlfriend..Tracy telling lies to make the new girlfriend think Steve is still interested in her....yawn!...AND THERE IS NO CHEMISTRY BETWEEN STEVE AND MICHELLE!! A BIG thumbs-down for this storyline. :((
ReplyDeleteThe whole stuff between Steve and Tracy is like beating a dead horse and is absolutely boring and tiresome. Steve forgives Tracy, Tracy does something evil, then Steve goes on about how he will never forgive her. Then start the whole cycle again. Will this ever end.
ReplyDeleteAnd stop reuniting couples, does this happen like that in real life. We have recently had Maria and Jason who apparently went out years ago, then Leanne and Nick, and now Steve and Michelle. And throw in Kevin and Sally as its obvious they will get together, and the whole "Will they get back together" is getting dragged out.
Such a boring story line. Steve's best partnership was with Karen IMO because Suranne Jones is such an accomplished actress. Kym Marsh and Kate Ford don't come anywhere near and Becky's character was ruined. As Amy's only about 8, we have a few more years of Tracy using her as ammunition (groan). Thank goodness for Gary and Izzy who really are brilliant at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww crap, not a Steve/Tracy thing again!!! Kate Ford front & centre on my TV again? Nooooooo! :-(
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I agree Steve and Michelle realllly have no chemistry.

I'm good wth the Nick and Leanne re-pairing but Steve and Michelle are boring and this Tracy stalker nonsense is more dull than the Alahans... I'd have never thought that was possible! Mix it up a bit, writers!! Heavens, put Steve and Eva together or Stella and Lloyd or something off the wall.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Karen and Steve's excellent partnership because of Suranne Jones' excellent performance! It would be awesome if Karen actually ran Tracy out of town instead of the otherway around. But Suranne needs to spread her wings!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments above and Humpty Dumpty is right - Gary and Izzy really are brilliant at the moment. Mind you, they have been good together ever since they met in 2010. Thank goodness these two interesting, well-suited and more sensible characters are finally getting bigger story lines.
ReplyDeleteWhile yes it does sound like here we go again where hole the shadow of Tracey factor is concerned, I actually don't mind Steve/Michelle, I think they do have chemistry and it dosen't have to be the same as what he had with Becky and Karen. I always prefered Steve and Becky as indiviuals than as a couple and I loved Steve/Karen. Suranne Jones was/is indeed brilliant and has already spread her wings, hell shes got to be in the top most successful ex soap stars ever list. I also love that both the actress' who play Tina and Katy want her back to play their mums.
ReplyDeleteBut I think Kim Marsh is good though she hasn't had the best of material to work with, although I even liked her with Steve first time round and remember feeling it was a shame they never got the chance to really take off, never agreed with the opinion of her nessacerly being boring and if anything Tracey aside I think it will be good for her to be brought into a more predominatingly comic enviroment after all the forced mellow drama stuff shes weathered when she first joined, though I do feel shes doing well with the mother stuff this time around, hey it beats all that long lost son switched at birth rubbish.
Michelle does bring a nice change I think, it's more down to earth warmth with them and while Michelle has that same trademark corrie female strengh of character, she shares Becky and Karen's strenghs while her weakness' are evidently different, she dosen't go nuts for the hell of it, isn't nearly as unstable, she isn't the two extreams that they were, she just may be the middle ground he needs, if he can ever open his eyes and make the realization rather than continueing to be lured away by the next nuttiest broad to walk the street.
I think one thing we all can be agreed on is that by now they need Steve to be seriously adnologing this problem of Tracy looming over every next partner or he'll be headed for one hell of complete mental health stress breakdown Ian Beale style!
I actually like the idea of them putting Steve and Tracy together for good they would be funny and entertaining and Tracy might be less evil if she was actually happy. Steve and Michelle are okay but dull and Steve will get bored again eventaully. Of course I don't trust these writers half the stuff they write is either awful(Sunita/Karl, Sean, Ryan) or brilliant (Kirstie/Tyrone, Gary/Izzie, Terry Duckworth) and that one could go either way.
