The spoiler says that Sophie is a passenger in a car when Ryan's driving under the unfluence of cocaine, loses control of the car and crashes it. Ryan does a runner, leaving Sophie at the scene.
It's Ken who breaks the news to everyone about the crash. He says: “I bumped into Sally on the way back from the hospital. Sophie’s had an operation on her back. She’s awake but there’s a chance she’ll never walk again.”
Hmm... as we all know, in soap parlance "may never walk again" means she will be up on her feet after three episodes.

Could have seen this one coming...- Micky
ReplyDeleteExactly - she will recover, without even the legacy of a limp - like Ray Langton, Jim McDonald and Peter Barlow before her...
ReplyDeleteHere we go again on the Weatherfield General merry go round, Sophie is brought it surrounded by white coated self important doctors, she is wired up and "unconscious". Kevin and Sally fret around the bed and are rude to the doctors and nursing staff DEMANDING to know what is going on, Kevin has a disagreeable face which passes for worried and Sally says "Oh Kevin" a dozen times. Then - MIRACLE OF MIRACLES Sawpie wakes up and is up and about within days - I dont know about introducing new families in Corrie, we DESPERATELY need new writers.
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that, Sarah Lou and Aid, remember? Only she didn't have the paralyzing thing but she did nearly die. He did run off and leave her. Nobody on a soap *ever* ends up in a wheelchair for life after an accident. A few months max.
ReplyDeleteFor one moment I thought the headline was "may never talk again". Alas...
ReplyDeleteWell said, Frosty.
ReplyDeleteIf it gets Ryan sent down and off the cobbles, it would be worth it. Wishin' and hopin'...
ReplyDeleteSo this will be the tie-in to the Sophie becomes a druggie storyline then, she obviously is in great pain and gets the drugs from Ryan.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous...LOL!!! You thought the headline was 'may never talk again'...HA-HA-HA......priceless. :O. Sigh....if only that were true.....now that's an episode I would tape and watch over and over and over again.
