Christmas wedding for Corrie couple

In Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson's interview with Digital Spy, which we blogged here, he revealed there'll be a wedding for Nick and Leanne, says the fab Inside Soap magazine this week.

Inside Soap quotes Phil saying in the interview: "There's going to be a wedding at Christmas, but will it go ahead? I'm not sue whether it will or not! That will obviously coincide with Peter's return  I find the Peter, Carla, Nick and Leanne 'love square' really fascinating, and I love all four of those characters. So they'll feature in a big story for us over Christmas and into the New Year."

You might remember that Leanne and Nick have already been married - and divorced. Should they get married again? What do you think?

  1. No, don't let her get re-married. I love that Leanne has gone from Battersby to Barlow - she's climbed up the Street's social ladder!

  2. If Peter and Leanne get back together because of Simon, it'll be a disaster.

  3. No they should'nt get married because Leeanne doesn't love Nick she is just using him for his money and a roof over her head. She is a Battersby after all!

  4. Isn't she still married to Peter, you wouldn't think that they could get a divorce by Christmas, or is this just Collinson doing whatever he wants and reality be damned?

  5. Can she get married abroad.... and stay there?.. forever??

  6. I am so fed up with this storyline between Peter, hard faced Leanne, and that irritating kid. Its all been dragging on for too long now. Why can't they just make characters do sensible things like Peter and Leanne getting joint custody of Simon, so we could end this storyline and tedious feuds. Its getting all boring.

  7. Not another will they, won't they wedding. It's beyond parody. You have to be brain dead to swallow this rubbish.

  8. Nathan, I can't agree with you more. I feel that Peter and Leanne are run by good actors but the characters are past their sell by date. And I must be hard hearted because Simon reminds me of the devil and is annoying to no end.

More rubbish with the wedding bound to e "interrupted" by someone or other shouting the odds, proably Peter that he wants her back after all that has gone onn - yawn - and good point above, how long does it take to get a divorce in soapland. Why do Nick and Leanne have to marry anyway, Gary and Izzy dont think its a pre-requisite and they are trying to have a child.

  10. I think it's a teaser about Nick and Leanne. PC only says the Christmas wedding co-incides with Peter and Carla's return. It could be Tyrone and Kirsty who get married or even Gary and Izzy.

  11. If it is Leanne and Nick’s wedding (from the way it was worded it sounds like there will be an actual ceremony, but more a question of if the vows take place) how is it even possible to get such a quick divorce while Peter is on a boat somewhere? And why would Peter agree to a divorce and come back with Carla in tow, to then decide “No, Leanne, I want you back” :O
But I suppose it’s not black and white because PC didn’t name any characters it could be Peter and Carla’s (that would be even more unbelievable!) or, I agree that it might be some completely different characters – surely PC wouldn’t give away one of his Christmas storylines so far in advance…

  12. Peter's sailing to the Caribbean. They have islands there with quick divorces so that would cover one problem.

  13. Why would Leanne take Peter back after he has been so vile to her, having Carla move in to their home within 5 min? I had hoped that Leanne and Steve would get together but he has been so dumbed down recently that perhaps Beth would be a better partner. Love to see Lewis and Audrey marry!

  14. Can't they all just get blown up and put an end to this inane rubbish.

  15. I used to be a mad fan of this show, but over the last year the writing has sadly deteriorated.

  16. I'm past caring about Leanne and Nick.

A big part of me still loves the idea of Carla and Peter together. When they're not drinking and when Peter's not being vile to Carla, they are brilliant to watch.

I don't know what's happening with Peter and Leanne's divorce but seeing as Leanne has the residency order for Simon, surely most of the proceedings have been completed?
