Lloyd's secret daughter to turn up in Corrie

There's a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Sun that says Corrie cabbie Lloyd Mullaney is in for a shock when an ex-girlfriend reveals he has a secret daughter.

The Sun says that Corrie bosses are looking for actresses to play Lloyd's former girlfriend and his daughter, who will join the show in September.

A Corrie source said: “Lloyd hasn’t been in touch with this woman for a while, and then she waltzes in and announces that he has a daughter. The news will knock Lloyd for six. His reaction will be pretty explosive.”

Sounds good to this fan.

    Hmmmm...maybe Lloyd's reaction will be explosive because he remembers Teresa Bryant pulling the same stunt on him about 4 years ago? Ahhh, Teresa - she was fabulous! Would love to see her come back, wouldn't she and Beth make a great team?:)

    Hopefully this means that Lloyd will be given some meatier storylines. Craig Charles was so impressive in the run-up to his departure thatnhe certainly deserves them.-NN

    I'm glad that Lloyd's going to get some storylines but this seems a bit cliched. Presumably, the daughter is young so it will be mother who's *feisty*. Can we hope Lloyd demands a DNA test?

    What is this obsession with babies and children in Corrie? There are other age groups in society. Lloyd's aged dad could have turned up having been kicked out by his aged girlfriend.

    Not another unknown relative....geez, next we'll find out Ken has yet another child somewhere! Now that Lloyd is back, let's have some scenes with him, Beth and Craig....

    Never understood why they got rid of the wonderful Theresa, especially after setting her up with the faktry cleaner's job. njblas is right; she and Beth would have made a fantastic double-act.

    Interested to see where they go with this- wonder if she'll be a moody teen to pair up with Sophie or a little cutie to play sisters with Amy?
    Maybe it will be really dramatic and she'll have something wrong with her which is why the mothers finally come looking for him.
