This week will be the first anniversary of Catherine Tyldesley playing Eva Price on Coronation Street.
Hasn't it flown? I wasn't that keen on Eva when she first appeared but along with Karl, she's the other member of that Price family threesome that I do enjoy watching. The other one of course is St Ella of The Back Room whom I remain no fan and I've tried, really Corrie, I've tried.
Anyway, there's a good long interview with Catherine in The Daily Record
She talks about Eva's current storyline battling her step-sister Leane for Nick Tilsley's affections. She also reveals that Eva is going to get together with Carla Connor’s ex-con brother Rob Donovan, played by Marc Baylis.

I think Catherine is a good actress however I hate Eva and find her a pointless tart. Onto her 4th bloke within a year, turning into the usual Corrie bycycle.
ReplyDeleteEva is hilarious..all her goods on display trying to make Nick jealous and he couldn't give a toss. I thought she would make a good pair with Jason..same mentality but oh well.
ReplyDeleteI think Leanna needs to get a place of her own but what does she do to support herself? Does she even have a job or are we going to go back down memory lane and she'll join Nick in the Bistro as his bar manager..once again?
I wonder wh's going to run the bookies while Peter's away. Maybe he'll leave it in Ken's hands who will employ Leanne. She's living over the shop and she knows the business.
ReplyDeleteIf there are any acting awards going, then three awards should go to Catherine Tyldesley for her portrayal of Eva:
ReplyDeleteOne to Catherine herself - and the other two, to her two up-front supporting role companions.
Laughed-o-L when she had that set-too tussle with a drunken Kylie in the Bistro not so long ago.
The two supporting up-fronters made a jiggling bid for freedom and the acting limelight, almost made it too, with Eva masking a look of horror, having to wiggle desperately, in an attempt to heave her dress back up, and just about foiled their escape, and all the time trying her best to intimidate Kylie.
That scene was well funny.
Eva is growing on me, too. However, I'd really like to see them do something either distinctly funny with her or let her develop a strong friendship with others (i.e. find a group to fit in with/support). She has potential.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anonymous' comment above: she has loads of potential and need to fit in with the right ones. Now that she's not scowling every time she comes in/out of the Rovers, I'm quite liking Eva. I have been having a chuckle lately at the scenes in the bistro with her, Nick, Gail, and Lewis.
