Sneak preview of tonight's Corrie - Thursday 31 May 2012

Coronation Street, Thursday 31 May at 8.30pm

TOMMY OVERREACTS WHEN HIS CAR GOES MISSING. Tina's suspicious as Tommy gets another text from Rick telling him his next car will arrive today. As it's dropped at the garage Tommy lies that it's another valeting job, so when Tyrone has trouble starting his own car and he needs to get Kirsty to a hospital appointment, he grabs the keys and borrows the vehicle. Arriving back from lunch with Tina, Tommy goes into meltdown. Presuming the car's been stolen a terrified Tommy is forced to call Rick. But when Tyrone returns in the car a shaken Tommy lays into him, all his pent up fears pouring out. Shocked by his outburst Tina wants to know what's going on. Will Tommy reveal all?
EILEEN'S FOR THE HIGH-JUMP AT UNDERWORLD. Carla's summoned Eileen to the office. After failing to meet their deadline when Eileen went missing yesterday they've lost a repeat order. Turning on Eileen, Carla sacks her on the spot. Explaining she's been having a rough time in her personal life will Eileen be able to talk Carla round?
NORRIS IS BLOOMING FURIOUS. Norris is looking forward to the Weatherfield in Bloom competition being judged today but when he discovers his plants have been butchered, as have the neighbours, he flies into a rage accusing Gail of sabotage. Meanwhile Owen is shocked to find Faye on a nearby street selling flowers to passersby. As she admits she just wanted to make some money for Anna, Owen reasons she'll have to confess. How will Anna react?
Elsewhere Carla struggles to be a parent to Simon.

The factory workers are a disgrace, and I use the word workers loosely. Never do any work, disappear off in the middle of the working day for some problem or other, members of family etc just turn up to discuss matters that could wait until they had finished or even phone them. Eileen is a waste of space and wouldnt last 5 minutes in a job in the real world. Now in the middle of a recession and with everyone so grateful to get their jobs back 5 minutes ago, they are going to walk out on strike (again!). Absolutely pathetic - tell the writers it is not 1980 any longer!!

  2. An unofficial strike (or even an official one where I've worked) means you get your pay docked. I'm heartily sick of the factory and agree with Frosty, it's in a time warp. No surprise there,as the Bistro wouldn't last five minutes in a real back street and many of residents drink regularly in the Rovers

  3. Don't know why I published half way through a sentence ...

...many of the residents drink regularly in the Rovers and we know that kind of pub is closing down through lack of custom.

  4. Agreed Frosty. The Factory is a continuous source of utter nonsense. I pity Hayley trying to keep to production schedules when the workers are continually taking holidays or having time off to feed the dog.

  5. Could you all give it a rest? Moan, moan, moan, moan!!! That's all you ever do.

  6. Humpty, are you really suggesting they shut down the Rovers to better reflect the current state of inner city Britain? Blimey, if I want that level of grimness I can read the Guardian, thanks.

  7. Carla will find Eileen sitting at the Rover's with Paul all sad and depressed and give her her job back like she's done many times before.

I'm not watching Corrie until the whole Tommy/Tina/Tyrone loan shark crap is done with so I'll be missing Rita's big day. To have that woman, shoved into the middle of such a moronic storyline as this when she should be front and centre without the ridiculous BS that has become Corrie lately, is beyond the beyonds.

    Rant ended.

  8. Eileen should be sacked - who just ups and leaves their workplace like that? I was so disgusted at Paul and Eileen fairly skipping down the street full of glee not 5 min after Paul practically threw himself on Lesley's coffin during his eulogy and their treatment of David and Kylie was abysmal. A toaster falling into their bath wouldn't go amiss :-)

  9. Didnt Carla take Eileen back after she had decamped to work for Frank? This is the way she repays her, write Eileen out I am sick of her miserable hangdog face and take the fireman with you.
